Orlin's brain is being damage while he tries to hold on his ancient memories to help Earth find the solution to the Ori's plague. WHY Carter didn't think of applying the same fix they applied to her on "Entity" (S04.E20) where her consciousness was transfered to the computer.

By transfering Orlin's consciousness to a super computer (RAMs and Hard drives are cheap now a days), the SGC will be able to preserve his ancient knowledge and at the same time saving Orlins brain. It may be cruel to wipe out Orlin's memory from his current human form but it happened anyway beside it's an alien world.

If Carter or at least the writer thought about it, it will be a different ball game to have the whole knowledge of the Ancient on our side.

Besides there is the time issue, even if they would have done this they wouldn't have been able to comprehend the data in order to use it for developing an antidot. If they would have done that, precious time would have been lost. They already had someone who could understand the data and was able to develop an antidot: Orlin.
Some times the best solution is the easiest.

Why did they not put Orlin in that Machine Anubis build in SG1 - 909 - Prototype, then they could just raise his Ancient Knowledge and then he can just Ascend again.

Why dont they put Daniel in that machine, he will then have all his Ancient knowledge back.

I don't know about Daniel because his memory was erased when to returned to human form.

Why wasn't the Asgards there to help them? I mean, we Earthlings practically won their war for them AND we saved their supreme commander like, 3 times.

If Orlin had the ancient gene (and he just 100% human) then maybe stick him in the Cryochamber in Antartica (the same one jack stuck himself in) and keep him on ice until SOMEONE like say... oh.. i don't know... the ASGARD... get off their grey butts and fix him. or until some other solution is found.

Ofcourse the problem with that idea is that we'll be bugging the writers every week with "when will orlin return!?".

At least by burning his brain he won't come back and wont cause the writers any trouble.

Anyone forgetting that when RepliCarter entered Daniels mind and searched for what he knew she was overwhelmed by the information. A replicator that could not properlly absorb the information so what chance do Earths supercomputers have?

Also the Ascended might have stopped such a tactic as Orlin ascending...while not a punishment on Orlin but they would try to defend their law.

And dont forget that if they put him in stasis then he wouldnt be able to help against the Prior Plague which he stated himself. There was no time and any of these attempts to save him would have wasted valuable time as there is no certainty that they would succeed.

The more relevant question would be: Why did he come back as a human (I think he actually used that word) child? Why not as an Ancient child?! That way, his brain capacity would be much greater.

You have to remeber that Orlin is probably hundreds of years older than Daniel and much more wiser.

Perhaps its got to do with the Others Ascended Law? I mean they believe in a rule of non-interference so sending one of their own as an Ancient would be breaking it while sending one of their own as a human child would be stretching it.

I don't think they could do the Entity thing. Remember the alien created the whole setup & they didn't really understand it. Also Hammond likely had it blown up after they got Sam back.
