    New Gate Question (D'oh, Spoiler for Atlantis/Rising)

    Stop me if you think you've heard this before. Actually, I did a search and couldn't find an answer, so if you know of another thread, let me know.

    Question: The Atlantis gate appears to be more advanced than the SG-1 gates. At least it does have more "blinky-light-thingies". However, there is discussion going on about the lack of a manual dial. So which gate is supposed to be the 1st generation and which is the 2nd generation? Or are they just different because our galaxy lacks "blinky-light" technology?

    Talk amongst yourselves...
