    Stargate Event Horizon?

Doesn't the event horizon pretty much destroy/annihilate anything in it's forming or deforming upon activating/deactivating the gate? Why is there a floor there in the middle of the gate? Seems to "Wormhole Extreme" to me, Ancients built it though yeah yeah so it's event horizon proof...

cough,cough...wormhole extreme...seems like they could of built a better gate foundation.

Even in some episodes of SG1 there is a grated platform that I know was not built by the ancients.. yet it is not smoldering/chared everytime the gate is activated a slight gap or retraction platform would be more realistic.

It sucks the more and more you watch a show you love you just start to pick apart the little things, the cost of being a fan..

Just the vortex (the kawoosh) when the gate first activates causes and damage, and the kawoosh forms in the middle of the event horizon ONLY allowing the floor to remain undamaged.

No the episode "THE ENEMY WITHIN" when Major Kawalsky is Goa'uld and Teal'c holds his head in the event horizon they shut it off and it pretty much decapitates part of Kawalsky's head

Yeah, but the floor is not passing through the wormhole, there is a ditch dug specifically for the stargate. As for the SGC's ramp, it's special.
