We could hear Zelenka's Czech once in a while, especially when he is cursing. Now there's another clip in 'Critical Mass' with him saying something in Czech. Can anybody verify whether it was really Czech, or a mere imitation by the actor? (I'm asking this because the language didn't sound like it when I was in Czech Rep.)

David Nykl (who plays Zelenka) is Czech himself, although he left when he was a small child. He speaks the language fluently and apparently he at first he stuck it in himself and TPTB liked it so much they made it a reoccurring thingsigpic -
At SG-10, David told us all about his Czech heritage. He was indeed born there and raised in Prague for a time, although they moved to Vancouver when he was young. He did go back to Prague and founded the Misery Loves Company theatre group. So he's obviously fluent.
He translates anything they want in Czech himself. And ad libs a bit!

Its pretty funny reading the translations, like in Letters From Pegasus, he was explaining the city rising through the water, so to answer Fords question, yes he DID say something that might need clearance

Zelenka lapses into Czech on a regular basis and we have a devout following of Czech fans who are only too eager to translate it all for us on the Zelenka translations and thunk thread. In addition, if you go to David Nykl's site, parts of it are in Czech (which the fans here are ALSO happy to translate).
So, yes, it's really real Czech.
