im going to be the mature one and say, check out the forum updates bit at the top of the main page, extreame newbie guide is usefull, the FAQ and numerous other place around that area if you get stuck again.

TPTB = The Powers That Be--and can refer to either the network executives (SciFi, SkyOne, Space, etc.), MGM and/or parent company Sony, Bridge Studios and/or Gekko, Secret, or ACME Shark (the production companies for Stargate), or the individual producers, (Robert Cooper, Brad Wright, and the other litany of executive, assistant and regular producers that make up the staff).
In regards to the site, TPTB may sometimes be playfully used to describe site owner Darren and the other moderators.

More recently, The Powers That Be is the title of a season 9 SG1 episode, so that abbreviation is used for that particular episode as well...just to confuse things more.
