Inter Team Communications

This thread is designed for teams to keep other teams in the know about anything story altering that occured during their own missions. For instance, SG7 have made a new ally in their current mission named the Lotarians, this is something other teams should know about, also you should post any technology you have found etc etc. In addition this thread can be used to plan/discuss possible coalition missions.

To keep things organised all main information you post in reply will be edited into this first post, for easy reading.

Technology Found

One goa'uld al'kesh. (SG7)
One ZPM (SG4)

Allies Made

The Lotarians: The Lotarians reside on a planet currently in civil war against an enemy called the Aufstand. They are technologically advanced and capable of interstellar travel. (SG7)

Enemies Made

The Aufstand: A group of people who are enemies of our ally the Lotarians, the Aufstand used to be Lotarians until there was a huge split into whether or not the technology should be used to build an empire. The Aufstand believe it should be and as a result tried to take power, when that initial revolution failed a more long term civil war errupted. They use the same technology as the Lotarians.(SG7)

Note: I asked Sharp for this thread to be made and he said OK in the information thread.

I would quite like to add a ZPM that I think i saw somebody find to the tech list, but I cant remember which team I saw finding it :( Anybody provide a link to the thread where it was found?

Here's where SG-4 brought it back. I can't help it, I'm compelled to read everything. It's an addiction.

SG7 are on the brink of bringing home an Alteran cruiser (not an up to date one, an older one on similar tech levels to the Daedalus. Combine it with the ZPM though and we may have a plot!)

Ok, taken from the control room, I doubt there would be Humvee's however, should it be wise, for an X-302 too meet the cruiser, and escort it while it lands?

Jynjyr
November 19th, 2005, 02:53 PM
I don't know if there are any F-302 pilots that aren't out with SG teams. Ask Blue or Sharp.
"Friendlies" are landed a lot closer. I hope. I wouldn't want to slog that far.
I asked if they even had motorcycles or bicycles. Or horses. Anything. Nope - feet. I kinda see the reasoning. They only have to walk thru the Gate to get anything they need.

Well with the X-302 thing, my charatcer was trained, to fly the X-302.

I still reckon that they would've had some kind of gound vehicle for use on the Alpha Site planet. Humvees, LSVs, something.

I think we need a definitive stocktake of the stuff we have. And I don't just mean goodies brought back from missions, but things like what guns we have, what vehicles, whether there's a lot of food and water, whether there's naquadah for power and the like. Missions could be formed around those sorts of things, the best examples being food and naquadah.
Also, how many NPCs there are trained in certain areas. How many pilots, SFs, technicians, scientists, the whole lot. I'd imagine that there'd be a lot of people, and only a small minority would be us people playing, and it would be nice to know that we can call thirty SFs to the Gateroom or scramble twelve F-302s if the occasion called for it.

I have Cole on his own on a friendly planet inhabited by the Na'too (supposedly first met by an SGC team before the End of the World) checking out a plant with possible medical uses as a way to explain my absence in the game. Besides...we're gonna need new stocks of stuff :D The Lotarians can't possibly give us _everything_ we need...

The Na'too are friendly, peaceloving and "primitive". They came into accidental contact with the Nox far in their past and revere them as gods and thus follow most of the basic Nox principles such as "liking everyone" but have not carried it into the non-interference, vegan thing :D They are eager to help us because we know the Nox :)

We have a new enemy. the Creshtans. they seemed to be a peaceful race but soon Sg2 found found out thier true intentions. they all once lived on one planet but when it was attacked they entire civilization scattered. they occupy many planets. they are more advanced than first thought but to what degree is unknown.. they are in possesion of ancient technology but do not know how to use it. SG2 was uable to get any of it.

Good idea :)

Well, I know General Blue is injured (no idea what the status on that is...)
I took control of Gordin Jones~NPC~.50 CAL turret man, he was hit directly in the face by a staff blast that came up through the gap between the turret and wall.

He's now lyinng on the floor, dead right behind the .50 Cal.

I think she meant in the Update. A section at the bottom.

I tried to green you for doing this Update but, it won't let me. I stuck a link in my sig for the duration of this adventure.
*wonders if this concept might be a good thing for team CO's on other missions*

There's also a dead co-pilot in the Hangar Bay.
Blue has a split lip, cut head, broken nose and mild concussion.
(And, oh yeah, he may or may not have been 'snaked' by one of the many immature Goa'uld larva in the Gate Room.)
I don't think that any other of the "Regulars" have been injured.

Tracy Jane
January 7th, 2006, 09:03 AM
Actually, I think regular updates are a fabulous idea. When are we gonna get an answer on whether he's been snaked or not?

Cpn. Chris(tine) Bowman
January 7th, 2006, 11:00 AM
Well, either he starts acting like a goa'uld or he is taken to see me and I scan him ;)

Ascended Times.2
January 7th, 2006, 10:30 PM
Ah, but if it's immature, it can't control him unless he goes to sleep.
And since most Goa'uld larvae being incubated from Jaffa are young...the effects can vary though.

Also, it seems the "regulars" are pretty bullet proof at the moment.

Oh, and the idea of the team mission updates are a good idea for team CO's, give them another job to focus on. *Curses myself for bringing this idea around*

Pshaw on the error. No problem.
They rescued some people. Not Mayhew. Petronius the Legionnaire was dragging him around. They didn't read that part.

Gen Blue

I gave it some serious thought, believe me. Since the Tok'ra aren't answering our phone calls, he wouldn't be getting it out anytime soon. If it was too immature to survive in a host and died, it would certainly release whatever poison they secrete when they die.
Bye-bye Nikko. :( And I've grown quite fond of Nikko. :)

Well.... I guess it shortens it a bit as well. It's running quite long as it is, without having to de-snake the general as well.

And we've all grown fond of him. Loved the line about can you teach me to swear in Goa'uld.

Kate's not really off her rocker, honestly. She just felt the need to get revenge, but went too far and is now having a bit of a breakdown in the middle of a war zone.

I saw that... good on you. Now Kate's gone wacko, I'm not sure if she'll be up and about for the whole Jaffa bashing thing. Might be just as well.

Yeah, it's a 2000 word essay in French about whether young people's use of foreign words in modern french is a secret desire to live elsewhere or not. Then next week I have another one, but it's an analysis of translation problems in French films. I'm used to it. I've been spreaking French for 14 years now, so it's not a huge deal. I can knock an essay up in French almost like I can in English, but obviously there are quite a few mistakes.

Just for you, honey....

So, you, are you French or from Quebec (I haven't got the french accent symbols on my computer) cos it's different. Almost a different language! :p My french teacher doesn't get it when I use phrases like "C'est poche ca"

C'est poche, ca is the Quebec version of "c'est nul" which means "oh, that's rubbish". They are totally different. The people in Quebec say chauffer for driving, and in France they say conduire. If someone in France says chauffer, that means heating something up i.e. in a microwave.

New Enemy- The Gu'mare
The gumare is a loose coalition of Jaffa and Romans who oppose the unification of thier cultures. They will do anything necessary to achieve thier goal.. The Gu'mare is a "secret" group although there existance is widely known and their cause gaining support with certain political figures. There hideout is on Chulak but they do not attempt to hide it. The people of that planet know it exists and ignore it.

Strengthened Relationship- THe Roman and the Jaffa high coucil. They tank us for saving Giaus from the Gu'mare. We might be able to call in afavor with them now because of this.

Foreston

A brief history - by Shelbel

Foreston is the small town that has grown up around the factories that were established before Earth was destroyed. It's a nice, quiet little town. It has a small store and a large church and a one-room school and a restaurant / bar as well as a central town square and market.

Although operating in parallel with and mostly independent of the base, many of the Foreston residents are slow to welcome base personnel, at times becoming borderline hostile. In an effort to encourage harmonious interaction, several base personnel have been allowed to establish residences and offices in and around the town. So far, though, relations are tentative at best. Base personnel are under strict orders to be on their best behavior in Foreston at all times.

The Mirror Temple is a separate space from the base. Near but not connected. It's a Sacred? place for the Shajgar who have allowed us to make use of it. The Mirror Room is inside that on the ground level.

I have been tasked with documenting the history of this RPG so this post will contain all summaries and updates that are deemed important. More will be added in time.

October 2008 :

The search through the forest revealed nothing conclusive. The general consensus is that the shooter has fled to Riverton, leaving the investigation without a final resolution, and leaving both the people of the base and the town to lick their wounds and settle down, to resume their daily life.

CURRENT as per May 2008 :
The meeting between the councilmembers of Foreston and General Blue (described in detail below) was rudely interrupted by a single bullet. In the aftermath of this shooting event in Foreston, a young woman named Brihanna Simmons (Foreston local / aide to Councilman Kevin Cooper / and a notorious femme fatale), is struggling for her life in the base's Infirmary. She took the bullet that was originally intended for General Blue. After initial first aid by retired medic Charles Donovan, she was brought to the base by helicopter (which also got shot at but luckily without much damage).
Donovan was later asked by CMO Aaronson to become the new director for the Foreston Clinic.

Meanwhile, the forest near Foreston is being searched for the shooter's whereabouts and the investigation is being conducted by Major Delgado of the Foreston Garrison.
Elsewhere on Gaia, there is a team training mission going on near the wreckage of the Alarius, starring the team members of SG-4 and SG-5.

Sorry, my muse is pretty stubborn when it comes up with new ways to torture Kylie. But don't worry this stay will be short. And the leg cast will be ready to come off soon enough. PT won't be much of a problem and she'll be cleared for action hopefully by the end of this month our time.

Ryn, do you need reports concerning any of the multiple "ER episodes" or just the bigger missions and such?

Hey guys, question:

Sharp is too tired to wander around base to look for Blue so he's gonna go to the security booth and just look through the screens there (which wont find him, but will let Sharp know that something is going on in the infirmary) . What I'm wondering is: Where is Danny Marshall?

I think I saw him around Blue after he got Janus-ed, but I have no idea where he is now.

Anyway, I dont want to post that he's not there if he is, and vice-versa ;)

After much deliberation, pacing and screaming at the computer, I've come up with more-or-less a working idea of an hydrogen fuel-cell based engine that'll fit in the engine bay of a humvee.

Basically, we're going to use a PEM, or proton exchange membrane fuel-cell. It works by running hydrogen gas through one set of channels, and oxygen gas through the other.

Due to my inabilty to track down the consumption of hydrogen per hour however, I was forced to assign an arbitrary number. To conclude, the engine will get approximately 200 miles for each gallon of liquid oxygen and hydrogen, plus an undetermined ammount of water.

PM me if you want more details.

Having a outline is great, cos it help both you and the other player know exactly what you both want. So you both can work best with the given ideas and have some character development points stuffed in ;)

But filling around the main plot points isn't all that hard. :) Just go with the follow of the rest of the game :D

Its kind of like those adventure books that let you choose different decisions to make- "If such and such happens, then I can go here... but what if they do this? Then I'll have to do this...."

Hey i was just thinking. Somewhere out there in teh universe there has to be a planet that evolved very simliar to earth and posibly has weapons that are very similar with similar amo that we could become allies. Just want to hear your oppinions

JacksonMiracle
September 29th, 2007, 07:33 PM
If you mean projectile weapons, and industrial society, I'm sure there's several planets like that out there, we've even seen a few in the show. As for forms of government, religion, languages, and the like, I would like to think that Earth was fairly unique in the manner in which everything like that evolved in the way it did. The possibility of having all different forms/types/denominations together in the same place like it is on Earth would be really freaky, but in a good way.

Planetary_Alliance
September 29th, 2007, 07:52 PM
But thats my point how come there isn't any civilization out there that has their gate in a military base. Or one doing exploration like ours. wouldn't it be interesting to have an SG team from another planet come to alpha site

JacksonMiracle
September 29th, 2007, 08:04 PM
Question: Does Gaia have an iris on their gate? :mckay:

Although, I do see your point. I would imagine that other plants do explore, we just haven't run across them yet. Would be a good idea for a mission though. *Gears start to turn* Hmmmm........

Vampyr
September 29th, 2007, 08:07 PM
Yeah JM, Gaia has an Iris, which is why nothing's coming here without our consent.

JacksonMiracle
September 29th, 2007, 08:16 PM
Exactly, so we'd have a MALP like thing from another plant crushing against the iris before we'd meet other explorers from an Earth-like society.

Planetary_Alliance
September 29th, 2007, 08:23 PM
Then they'd try radio comunication

edit: or we'd try to radio them telling them we have an iris

A thought that occurred to me while reading Adria's shooting on the range. If everyone designates cleaning up their brass (the outer shell of the round) and puts the brass in one spot, it's possible with some ammunition types to put a new bullet in the case. Possibility if we obtain the right metals or meet a higher technology civilization.

Jynjyr
September 30th, 2007, 04:17 AM
Earth evolved as it did because we were the ones who stood up to our Goa'uld and kicked their @$$es off the planet. :D It was after that, that the Goa'uld started seeding other planets with humans stolen from Earth. Hence the reason we are the "Tau'ri" - first ... something. I can't remember. :(

Most other planets, not under current Goa'uld rule, were abandoned by their 'gods' or are under Asgard protection. Before someone jumps up and points to the Tollan or the Aschen, I said "most". :) New Hebrides, too. They're the most advanced civilization encountered that's still around, I think.

Also, Earth is the only one who found the 'address book' on Abydos and the only one who got the Ancient's 'address book' via Jack. The rest are doing trial and error to connect to places.

Look at it this way, too. If another exploring race contacted us and visited Gaia, what would they find? The remnants of a race struggling to survive for another generation. The shoe is on the other foot now. We're not the rescuers, we're the rescuees.

Question about Foreston. How do we pay for things? I assume military scrip is the common currency used there. Just for the convenience of having only one kind of money.

No idea about the economy of this place. :S

Maybe it works like in the old days, before money. Trading goods and services? Like, if you got a broken door or whatnot, a carpenter will fix it for you and you will in return fix his drainpipe? Stuff like that?

*wonders if Jack expects his customers to do the washing up for him...*

Suggestion - make a note of who's quarters you're in. [ McKinnon's quarters ] for example. Shouldn't team leaders have their own offices, BTW? Even if not shown on a map? Maybe a generic 'Offices' thread? Meetings shouldn't have to be held in quarters, IMHO. :) Maybe use the team's 'mission thread' and a location tag - [CO's Office]?

heh, I've played that one. Gotta love the one string songs ;)

I'm actually starting to get through "Constant Motion", "Dark Eternal Night", and "In the Presence of Enemies (Pt. I)" off the new Dream Theater album, albeit well under tempo for the crazy technical sections. Nothing like spending 3 hours with a metronome to get one lick, lol.
