"In a Single Bound" is the latest in a recent glut of Superman-inspired media, which includes The WB series "Smallville" -- whose fifth season begins Thursday -- and the oft-hyped studio film "Superman Returns," slated for release next summer.
Unlike its big-budget cousins, Marroso's film traces the real-life origins of the character, including how Clark Kent got his name and why a radio program invented Kryptonite.
Through interviews, animation and vintage clips, "In a Single Bound" recounts how Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster -- two 17-year-olds from Cleveland -- invented Superman in 1934, sold away their rights for less than $200 and watched their creation permeate popular culture.
