Sarah Jane Smith would be my favourite, mainly beause she was the first companion I can remember watching. The 4th Doctor/SJS/Harry Sullivan era is probably my favourite of all, they made a good team.

Others I liked: The Brigadier, Jamie [that accent and the kilt!!], Liz Shaw, Ace, Rose and Captain Jack.

When I first started watching the show I really liked Liz didn't mind Jo then Sarah then Nyssa then Ace she was brilliant, and now Rose. Harry was good too but he didn't stay long enough for me oh and of course Capt Jack but again didn't stay long enough.

Do we count K9 as a companion? Although he was a little annoying at times.

Sarah Jane is my favourite companion, I suppose Romana would be my second favourite with Jamie my third.
