People like Hugh Jackman and Clive Owen, who have long been rumored to be in consideration are right out. It seems more likely than ever now that they'll go the route of an Orlando Bloom or maybe even Tom Hardy who starred as Shinzon in the quickly forgotten last Star Trek movie 'Nemesis'.

George Lazenby was Australian
Timothy Dalton is Italian and Welsh
Pierce Brosnan is Irish

so being english isnt actually a requirement to play Bond.
