Anubis? Why the cloak? Bad haircut? (no spoilers please)

As I'm sure you've all noticed, Anubis wears a cloak over his head with a dark veil covering his face. You never do something like that to a character unless it is for a reason so, what is Anubis trying to hide? I'm thinking he's either another "friendly" character doing some cloak 'n dagger work (like the whole emperor story in Star Wars) or is from a race who we would not have expected to be a host; either which way I expect it to be a fairly interesting revelation when it does come out.

So, who do you think Anubis is?

No spoilers please, just innocent brainstorming.
