Ronins Gun

I dont know if u guys noticed but where did ronin get his gun from? It seems like its more powerful than the projectile weapons when put on lethal mode.

its not actually that powerful, if you look closely in duet when he is shooting the paper targets, when he shoots the paper it burns, but leaves the wall untouched. As for where he got it i doubt any body besides from thew writers know.

I think if you look at the wall of the little structure they were being held in, in Condemned, you can see that it is pretty powerful. The wall was made of wood and it blew a big hole on it.

It's a cool gun, it was more powerful than any of the sga weapons when used in target practise in Duet. I can't remember, but maybe it was the type of weapon used on his homeplanet.

I think a better question is how may extra batteries can he keep on him? But then again, action heroes can bypass some physical laws when it comes to ammunition.

I wonder about that when it comes to the wraith stunners and zat guns. Seems laser weapons never run out of ammunition.

I wouldn't classify any weapon I've seen on Stargate as a laser, but yeah, there is nothing to indicate any need of an external power scource for any of the alien hand weapons other than Ronins little red power cells (which I assume are somehow rechargable)

I think its like a minature rail gun. Rail guns fire their ammo not by an chemical reaction(gun powder) but by electricity(thats why the shots are blue). Ronons gun might just fire regular ammo but in the way of a rail gun instead of conventional gun powder(which would explain why its red).

it cant be from his home planet, its not like the wraith would give him a gun when they released him, meaning there is another powerful race that is rich in technology out there

I think somewhere along the way, over the 7 years he was being hunted by the Wraith, he put that gun together. He was a weapons specialist on his home world after all.

Staff weapons run out of ammo. They have a naquadia liquid power source thingy. (In the fifth race we see it.) Im guessing the zats have the same. As for ammo, In conversion to reload it looks like he flipped a switch or something either that or he was changing the power setting. Its a variable power thing and it does no physical damage so I doubt its a railgun. Even bean bag shotguns can break ribs and stuff. Not to mention the Red "electrical" disperse over the body when hit.

but that would mean he has a extensive knowlege of energy weapons (which it really dosent look like) he needed parts (cant make that easily without going to a advanced planet) and a place to assemble it (probably not a cave). he probably infiltrated a wraith ship and went into a room where they keep all their confiscated guns and took some. or took it from a planet he visited, or person he killed.

The inspiration for Ronon's gun came from the Colt 80, one of the largest handguns made. It has three power settings...Stun, Kill and Incinerate (doesn't that just sound familiar...), indicated by three LEDs on the side and selected by a switch. And it is a rechargable power cell. I think he preserves it by removing it when the weapon is not in use and not in inniment need of being so, as you see him load it in 'Instinct'. Plus he has Sheppard and Teyla to cover him when they are in a group, with their P90s, giving him time to load it up...

Well wait look at that triple barrell shotgun looking thing. Does it fire bullets? I can't remember. You know the thing the genii had. That confuses me who invented these guns the genii or ronons people. Oh yea and i don't think he built it. I want to know who did because it is the perfect weapon.(Powerful,Compact,Less then lethal if necessary,reliable.)
