Daytime Strips, Weekend Hours Grow; Newsmags Stay Flat

The top syndicated talk and courtroom strips saw ratings increases for the week ended Aug. 14, while entertainment newsmagazines were mostly flat or down. The top-rated weekend hours, however, grew significantly, with Paramount's weekend edition of "Entertainment Tonight" leading the first-run pack.

MGM's "Stargate: SG-1" was second among the first-run hours with a 1.9, a 19 percent increase for both the week and the year. [NOTE: This would be for the episode, "Evolution - Part One," and it's third broadcast in syndication.]
