A cure to the ancients plauge!!!! (maybe)

I went to a cool presentation about this at Princeton by the head scientist, check it out, it could be the 'cure' to the Ancients plauge!

That is very cool. Even if it would not be able to cure the Ancient Plauge it may very likley cause many other problems. But most of all it is interesting for its' scientific value. Even if it is never used for anything, the fact that bacteria can speak in many diffrent languages, to other species of bacteria, is interesting.

However it does offer great opportunity for the creation of great new anti-biotics.

Very true, the scientists plan for it is that when they develope it, it will probably be the 'mericle drug' because, like the flu virus, viruses adapt to whatever is killing them and the drug no longer works. This will be good because it is not killing them, it is merely 'shutting them up'

Yes, think how would we fight a war if everyone was blind and deaf. We wouldn't be getting very far now would we!

I would just like to say that this strategy has been used before and is still being used today. In war, the military may try to jam the enemies radio signals to prevent them from comunication and disorienting them.

And the only way this could be a cure to the ancient plague is if it's bacteria that is causing it, which is probably not the case. If it's a virus, this does nothing.

But for the real world, it's a neato discovery.

hmph, you people and your fancy six letter words...anyway, one of my points is, if we're finiding out how to do this to bacteria, wouldn't you think the ancients could figure out how to do this for their 'plauge'? Even if their plauge isn't bacteria based, you'd think the ancients would be able to come up with a cure.

Stargate aside, this discovery has incredible potential.

Of course it is, it is a completley diffrent approach at killing bacteria, as it wouldn't directly kill them.

We could tell the bacteria to kill theselves or to stop reproducing. How cool would that be.
