I am having difficulty with this one... I love both The Voyage Home and First Contact... I loved the humour of The Voyage Home for the longest time... the whole fish out of water scenario but I also loved the grimness and edginess of First Contact...

Overall, I suppose First Contact was a much more intriguing and tightly written story... and of course... The Borg has always given the Federation a good run for their money.

First Contact and The Wrath of Khan are both good movies, but the latter suffered in comparison because I'm not a big fan of Shatner's acting method.

First Contact was just a good sci fi movie. Its hard to find fault with that. I did like insurrection and Wrath of kahn and voyage home but I agree Kirk is not my cup of tea... plus the special effects just got way better for the TNG movies.
Joseph Mallozzi -"In the meantime, I'm into season 5 of OZ (where the show takes an unfortunate hairpin turn into "the not so wonderful world of fantasy")"

^^^ Kinda sounds like seasons 9 and 10 of SG-1 to me. Thor, ya got Aspirin?

AGateFan has officially Gone Fishin (with Jack, Sam, Daniel, Teal'c) and is hoping Atlantis does not take that same hairpin turn.

Nice to hear your views - do any of you think there should have been a DS9 or voyager movie

Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home (1986)
                Star Trek: First Contact (1996)

Between those two, it's really hard for me to choose, because they are different Startrek team.
I would appreciate The Voyage Home more for story, ingenuity, humour and Special effect (for an 80-s movie). I would put point for First Contact for the gritty story, IMHO it's quite harsh for a Trek-movie.

First contact is my personal favorite, this movie had everything that made Star Trek great.

Wrath of Kahn comes in second and Nemesis comes in third.

The Wrath of Khan is my favourite trekkie movie, but I've enjoyed all of them.
I don't think either DS9 or voyager movies would be that great!

I'd have to say my faves are the last 4 movies, and out of the 4, it'd have to be Insurrection.

I always liked First Contact the most. Insurrection and Nemisis were good, Nemisis was a bit, I dunno, it was good but there was something missing I still can't put my finger on. Insurrection sticks in my mind as being a bit fluffy. I liked it, I watched it twice when I rented it but yeah, fluffy.
