Great interview! Wow! I knew I was right! David's awesome. And hysterical! Crossing over to steal food and leave snarky messages. hehe. Now I'm all hyped up for Atlantis. :D

LOVED it, Darren. Totally loved it. Am also insanely jealous of you. :P I hope he decides to do cons...

I'd recomment reading along if you're going to listen to it, there are a few spots were it's hard to hear ;)

Terrific interview, David (with David).

What a great sense of humor!

And you're right -- the Metrorail does stop often!

Thank you for all your hard work.

I'm going back to read it again.

Ah,bliss ! :D Most excellent interview, and I loved every minute of the audio version ! (Can't be easy, doing an interview in their lunch-tent,with the train noise to cope with too.Busy place !)
DH really comes across (to me), as a prankster, and a guy who doesn't take life too seriously. Cool attitude ! :D

That was too funny! I knew I liked McKay as a character, but David Hewlett has now made me want to watch Atlantis....and I wasn't so convinced I'd watch it before that interview....thanks for the interview, Darren! Made my day over here in Germany! :D

WOW! That was fantastic. David is quite the talker. He's so deadpan funny. I love it! So can't wait for Atlantis now.

Great interview Darren. I'm so jealous! :)

Yes, Shadowmaat, I think you even called the power bar thing! Way to channel. ;)
I did, didn't I? How scary is that? ;) Maybe I should start predicting the return of Luke and Jonas's re-inclusion into the show (either show) and other fun things. :D

I'm going to have to listen to the audio portion as soon as I have some free time. David sounds like he'd be fun to interview... if maybe a little dangerous. Good thing you DID get it all on tape. hehe.

Still love the interview. Still a happy camper. Thanks for sharing!

Wow! Great interview Darren. David Hewlett is just as fun and snarky as McKay - he should definitely do cons. I can't wait to see him in Atlantis now and he makes the other characters sound like a lot of fun as well.

Of course I now have this image of the writers as prairie dogs poking their heads up when you venture into their section of the compound. :D

Thanks so much..

awesome! its about time =) *giggle*

you know...he was in this really bad movie called "Cube". I saw it a while back...made the whole movie worth while just to see him in it heehee.

Bad?! I thought it was awesome! Now, Cube 2 was a piece of monkey dung, but I loved the original. Guess I won't recommend Cypher to ya, then. Your poor little mind obviously isn't capable of appreciating the subtleties of good cinema. :P Go watch Boa vs. Python instead. It's mindless drivel, but it has lots of David looking very buff. :D

Hahahahahaha Cypher, i'll remember that one next time i rent movies.

Yeah, i saw cube 2, before the first one and I really didnt like that one. The first cube was really strange, and creepy *i dont like creepy movies*. I wouldnt say that Cube is the worst movie out there...but the creepy factor in it will keep me from watching that one again.

You know, i saw Boa vs. Python and didnt like that one either =/

Won't do ya any good. Unless you're in Southeast Asia. Cypher is only released in Region 3. I found a good deal on ebay, though. Well worth the money, IMO, even if David's role was regrettably small. Guess they didn't want him to upstage the main star. ;)

BTW, that mindless drivel will be airing again on Scifi network:

Boa vs. Python - Sunday, June 27, 7:00 p.m. ET

I fell asleep and missed most of David looking buff the first time it aired so I may try and catch it again. Maybe there are some nuances to the story I missed the first time around. :D

Nice interview!
I loved his charecter so i'm really happy that
he's in Atlantis, hope to see Amanda over on
Atlantis as well at some point as the banter
between them was fun to watch.
Laughed m head off when he said about sneeking
over to the SG1 set and stealing food and
leaving snarky notes:)

That's a great interview, thanks Darren!! He's such a funny guy, I really hope he does do conventions.

David Hewlett is my primary reason for watching Atlantis. I'm not much for spinoffs, as most tend to be tepid shadows of the original, but I will give the show a chance. Just depends if the writing picks up ...

I met David at the Kung Fu conventions he mentioned, which are so different from today's conventions I think the poor guy would go into cardiac arrest at an SGC con! ;) At the KFTLC event, there were no overbearing security people, only 125 attendees max, guests and attendees mingled freely and hung around and talked about anything and everything. I dare say there hasn't been a convention like it nor do I think there will be one (ah, the good ole days....)

But David is a great guy to chat with. If I had the opportunity to do lunch with an Atlantis actor, I'd pick him instantly.

Me too! One reason that I am excited about Atlantis isn't that they've got some continuity from the show with MacKay, but because he was a character that I really enjoyed but we saw little of - and now we've got the chance to explore the character in full.

The real question will be: how is McKay going to operate in another part of the galaxy if he doesn't know what might be an alien citrus fruit? :D

This interview has me excited about Atlantis as well. David sounds great. I have always thought he would make a great con guest. From the interview it sounds like no one has ever asked him. I hope he does a con where I can see him.

Have any of you seen TREED MURRAY? David Hewlett made it a few ago. I rented it because he was in it. It was quite good. It was interesting to see him in a dramatic role.

Yep. Saw it and ended up liking it a lot more than I thought I would. Definitely NOT something I would have chosen on my own, but it turned out to be a fairly good story, IMO... Although I was left wanting to know a lot more about David's character. The American title, for those who wanna know, is GET DOWN. Utterly stupid name, but that's America for ya. ;)

Things people wouldn't be interested in hearing. Pauses of extreme duration, things like that. We pride ourselves on doing our utmost do delivering the complete interview, as long as the Actor doesn't object.

Ready to go, but out of my hands... however, 'frequent updates' is something that needs to be remembered when looking at the initial database :P

David Hewlett is my primary reason for watching Atlantis.

Same here. I tried watching SG-1 a few times, and thought, "mneh." (No offence to SG-1 fans; just wasn't my glass of merlot.)

I met David at the Kung Fu conventions he mentioned . . . At the KFTLC event, there were no overbearing security people, only 125 attendees max, guests and attendees mingled freely and hung around and talked about anything and everything. Someone else who remembers the FuFests! Woot! Best times I ever had in fandom. Wacky fun . . .

I'm just loving David on SGA. Best thing on the show, IM(NowhereNear)HO.
