Stargate Atlantis - Seige, Part 3

Making 'Atlantis' More Stargate

The following review contains MAJOR SPOILERS for the "Stargate
Atlantis" episode, "Seige, Part 3."
What's a science-fiction franchise to do?
Your ever-more-successful original show is undergoing changes in
characters, storylines and bad guys after eight years, so you've got
fully developed elements of the series that could go to waste. Rather
than let them just gather dust, what could one possibly do with these
things?
Wait a second ... Do'h! We've got a spin-off that could use them!
Not that this is a bad thing for the SciFi Channel's "Stargate
Atlantis," necessarily. The show's characters and situations are very
well fleshed out as a result of a strong first year, so it's time to
integrate "Atlantis" more firmly into the franchise.
With visions of crossovers dancing in their heads, the Stargate
producers have beamed several concepts and characters from "SG-1"
to "Atlantis," including a starship full of alien technology (the
Daedalus, which launched for the Pegasus galaxy on the "SG-1"
premiere an hour earlier); an Aasgard, (Hermod, who frowns on how the
humans use the borrowed technology but still makes it work); and the
stuttering Doctor Lindsey Novak from "Prometheus Unbound," the same
episode that introduced Claudia Black's Vala character into "SG-1."
**general snippage**
Look for "Atlantis" to maintain and even expand it's high ratings and
loyal fan base. There's just one question that needs to be answered—
when will this show enter syndication? Not soon enough, it seems!
