I'm already loving him. An asgard who mutters under his breath is just great. I especially loved the whole 'I'm not talking to you' attitude.

Why didn't he want them to use Asgard beaming tech to send nukes into the enemy? It's war...they are trying to defeat the enemy ships...what's it matter how they do it? Doesn't sound like the Asgard to me, though I'm glad they did it as I love the new personality. Hermiod is awesome...his head turns like 180 degrees.

In "The Official Magazine of Stargate SG-1" issue #5, they have a section where they talk (and show through pics) about constructing a new Asgard puppet. So this Asgard isn't just a new character... he's a new (multi-character usage) puppet.
I thought it looked like they seriously improved the CGI Asgard too...
Hermiod is primarily a Dadealus crew member, so he won't be always on Atlantis. Rather he'll be riding back and forth between Atlantis and Earth on the Dadealus. So we will only see him occaisonally, but semi-regularly.
