THIS SUNDAY NIGHT is the first performance of Bear's new band 17 Billion Miles of DNA, part of the sixth Alternajazz Festival! Come out, support live music, enjoy some amazing original tunes and a few truly unexpected covers. You're ears won't believe themselves!
17 Billion Miles of DNA is the result of the cacophonous and haphazard collision of Gypsy songs, French jazz, South American tango and the sick and twisted imagination of composer / accordionist Bear McCreary. Their quirky original tunes range from the lyrical to the whimsical, the sublime to the ridiculous. While they set out to push the boundaries of contemporary avant-garde jazz, they may have only ended up with music that's fun to dance to.
