He's not helping himself when he does things like this. No not at all.

YMMV, of course.

*Runs in, all excited*

I'm going with two of my friends to see John live on May 26th next year!!!

(Regarding BBC...'streak')

Yes, a very silly thing to do but I think the BBC will not give him as much trouble as Wossie and Brand seeing how he wasn't particularly targeting anyone and kept it 'hidden' beneath the camera. If it would have been shown then yes, definitely a slap on the wrist.

:(

I'll probably take my military coat with me......Yes, i have a replica of Jack's WW2 coat, that's how much of a Torchwood fan i am!! *blushes* Its such a good replica that i love it when elderly people come up to me and tell me that they used to have "one of those in the war!" The only thing the coat doesn't have it the flappy bits on the shoulders with the captain bars so i will have to get some material and attach them on.

Obviously take it off in the hall!! I love the coat (only £35!!) but it seems others don't! I had it buttoned up yesterday at work and had my leather gloves on and my friend came over and called me a Gestapo! I may have whacked him!! :P Then my boss starts laughing, so i turned around and said, very Gestapo-like, "Don't start or i'll get you kiddnapped and beaten up!!" *sighs* I love this coat!!

Ha ha! Then you hang on to it. I have a disability which means I don't get out a lot, so will be thinking of you at the concert. Blow him a kiss from me, wontcha? My fiance gets sick of me dribbling over him and Jr Bourne (Martouf), so I have to pretend I'm not interested when he wants to watch the rugby when Torchwood is on, when I actually want to chloroform him and put him in a cupboard til it's finished. Oh well, there's always my DVD's...........THUNK!

I think its from one of the american soaps that he did. I think thats the one that the producers haul him into their office and told him not not tell the fans that he was gay. Obviously he said no, so he was written out of the show via the most ridiculous ways.

He was even told by producers that he wasn't allowed to walk down the road with his partner (not sure if was with Scott back then), incase fans put two and two together! I believe at one point he was even told not to smile, because that would indicate that he was gay! *raises eyebrow* John flatly refused right there, so they wrote his character out as having a skiing accident and had to go to Africa for extensive reconstructive cosmetic surgery. *barely contain a snicker* As you can see, great storylines there! *rolls eyebrows*

Torchwood - Let Me Borrow That Top (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AwWSN_VXZAw) by starphoenix79. Pure Crack. Warning: mild Gwen bashing.

Crossover: Crackvid (Torchwood + Doctor Who) (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vr116EF_dvA) by SecretSmile90. The description says: "two shows - 25 songs". What really got me was The Lord of the Rings theme with Countrycide footage. :p

Jack is SUPER! by SailorSenmurv. This is a fantastic version of Big Gay Al's song I'm super from South Park. This vid is superB ;) But I found that it was taken down by the author. If you want to see it you have to download it here (http://hosted.filefront.com/SailorSenmurv). It's woth it though.
There's another TW music vid with the same song (Jack's super by aussiegirl587 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ucCcJe8FwYo)) but it's not as good as the one mentioned above.

Enjoy. :D

Totally uninterested in John Barrowman. (Sings well, mind you.)

Disturbingly attracted to Captain Jack. Couldn't understand it for a long time, and then realised how much he reminds me of the swashbuckling heroes I used to read about when I was younger, like Biggles and The Saint...

I read way too many boys adventure stories. :D

(That's real original Saint, not the tv series. Excellent books...)

Also on Saturday, my sister is having a fancy dress party for her birthday, 3 guesses who i'm going as, depite the fact that i'm a girl with long, red hair!! Yup, our man here! I've got the blue shirt, the coat, the braces and the waistcoat. All i need now is a vortex manipulator, a webley, and a sexy welshman who will do whatever i say!! Hehe!

I haven't got the pants and shoes because i don't know what colour or style he has, anysuggestions with all of the above? any sites i can go to, etc?

This will give me a chance to flirt with men and women!! *cackles*

I have found a rather funny review of s1 and s2 at Salam Cinema Blog.

The author points out how incompetent and "useless at their job" Torchwood staff really are. The only one who shows some (low :p) level of competence according to the source is Jack [*lolz*] so I decided to post a few snippets here. It's biased, it mocks the show but it's fun.

Now, on to the fun part. One of my qualms about the show is that this branch of Torchwood staff really is useless at their job. Most of the threats to other people, the city, or the world seem to somehow be because of Torchwood’s incompetence. This doesn’t mean that the show knows this. Not at all, I’m almost sure that the writers and the producers probably didn’t even notice it themselves. I’m going to through each episode to show this. This part is only really useful to anyone that has actually SEEN “Torchwood”.

Season 1, Episode 1: Everything Changes: The killings were because of Suzie, Torchwood staff. She was stopped, but if Torchwood didn’t exist, those dead people would be alive.

Season 1, Episode 2: Day One: Gwen throws a tool at Owen and it hits the alien artifact, releasing an alien gas that enters a woman, and kills people. Gwen is generally the one that always fu**s things over, and she is apparently the heart of the team.[AMEN TO THAT. :p] Bonus incompetence, they catch the alien, and she escapes somehow because of Owen. Good job, team.

Season 1, Episode 3: Ghost Machine: They do a fairly okay job here. I mean, one person dies because of them, but maybe that is okay because the old man had raped and killed a girl decades earlier. Although, it is not like they planned to kill him, they did it by mistake.

Season 1, Episode 4: Cyberwoman: Ianto is hiding a cyberwoman in the Torchwood secret cave. Part of the cyberwoman used to be Ianto’s girlfriend, so he is keeping her alive, but cyberwoman are supposed to be a great threat to mankind, and they were responsible for killing the previous team. But Ianto still does it, the cyberwoman kills two people, and is finally stopped in spite of Ianto whining and crying. If she had escaped, it was possible she could have far more dangerous, but luckily she didn’t, no thanks to Ianto. Even though they nearly caused a major catastrophe, Ianto does not get fired, which is frankly a big problem with Torchwood’s not having a HR team. This proves that even secret alien-fighting organizations need a HR team. Sure, Jack might be an immortal, but he does not have a hiring and firing Torchwood policy, which might have been more useful.

Season 1, Episode 5: Small Worlds: They didn’t fu*k things up here, but that’s the best you could say about them here. The best they did in this episode was they didn’t fu*k things up, because if they didn’t exist, the ending would have been exactly the same way. And even that is thanks to Jack. He allowed creepy fairies to take a small girl in exchange for the world not being destroyed. Good choice, but the other Torchwood members give Jack the cold shoulder because they think he did an immoral act. Seriously, Jack, fire them, these guys can’t see the bigger picture.

Season 1, Episode 6: Countrycide: A cannibal village is stopped by Torchwood. That is good. Although, again, only Jack stopped them. The rest of the group got themselves captured and nearly killed, but at the last moment Jack comes to their rescue, fu*king shoots everyone, and case closed. Did Jack just want them to be on his team because he wants to make out with them? Because they hardly seem to be of any use.

Season 1, Episode 7: Greeks Bearing Gifts: Tosh makes out with an alien girl, falls in love, secretly sneaks her into Torchwood, and is thankfully stopped by Jack, because she was using Tosh all along.

Season 1, Episode 8: They Keep Killing Suzie: People die because of Suzie, ex-Torchwood staff (she is dead, but she had planned it in advance). They resurrect her to help solve the case, and then she tells Gwen a sad story about wanting to meet her father, so Gwen secretly sneaks her out. Suzie kills father and nearly kills Gwen, but is rescued by…you guessed it, Jack. All is forgiven though, because Gwen is the heart of the team.

Season 1, Episode 9: Random Shoes: No Torchwood related deaths here, but I think that is because there was no possibility of threat. They solve a mystery, and that is mainly due to the ghost of a dead person helping Gwen a bit. And the ghost helps Gwen from being getting hit by a car.

Season 1, Episode 10: Out of Time: Again, no threat here. Three people from the 50s accidentally enter a time rift and come to the present, and Torchwood takes care of them to settle in. [B]Maybe they should just make Torchwood a sort of support group? Because they really are better at hugs than fighting bad guys. :p

Season 1, Episode 11: Combat: This is an episode like the movie Fight Club. They capture Weevils and fight them, Owen nearly dies (due to his own stupidity), but the team saves him. On the surface, it seems the team did a decent job here, stopping an underground fight ring. But then again, the group was capturing Weevils, and that is a plus, isn’t it?

Season 1, Episode 12: Captain Jack Harkness: Jack and Tosh get stuck in a different time, and Owen helps them by doing something that he is not supposed to do, and that is messing with the time rift. The consequences of his disobedience and incompetence will be shown in the next episode.

Season 1, Episode 13: End of Days: Something is going wrong in the city, and the rest of the team want to fully open the rift. Jack is telling them not to do it, they don’t listen, start a mutiny, Owen shoots Jack, and they open the rift. A big demon comes out, almost destroys the world, and is stopped by Jack. Torchwood almost caused death and destruction, almost the end of the world, the staff not only refuses to listen to their leader but also shoots him, and it ends with Jack hugging them.

end of part 1

Salam Cinema Blog on TW - part 2

Season 2, Episode 1: Kiss Kiss, Bang Bang: Jack’s ex-lover fools everyone into helping him even though Jack knows he is a liar and tells everyone he is a liar. They still help him, and the only reason nothing bad happens to them is because the ex-lover was fooled himself by another character (not Torchwood staff, they aren’t that smart). Gwen still nearly dies though.

Season 2, Episode 2: Sleeper: No complaints from me here. Torchwood does save the city from aliens. Finally, some they are of some use. Although, the alien does say that they can’t be stopped and the others are already here. They never bring this plot up again, so as far as I know, the aliens are continuing their plans, and Torchwood just forgot.

Season 2, Episode 3: To the Last Man: No ****ups here either, but to be honest, I didn’t really fully understand the conflicts that was represented

Season 2, Episode 4: Meat: A group has captured a big alien and they are cutting into it and selling the meat illegally. The alien is alive and keeps growing (very creepy and sad!). Torchwood stops this and kills the alien (because they can’t help it, so they put it out of its misery). Not entirely bad, but not really that useful either. They didn’t really help the alien and free, unlimited meat does seem to be good for humanity.

Season 2, Episode 5: Adam: An alien inserts false memories into the Torchwood staff, and only Jack figures it out and stops it. No threat to anyone aside from the staff’s memories.

Season 2, Episode 6: Reset: Torchwood stops a scientific facility that is experimenting with aliens on humans. That is good. But stopping the scientific facility is not necessarily that okay in my book, because the research was important in my opinion (curing all diseases!).

Season 2, Episode 7: Dead Man Walking: People die because of the team bringing some kind of death figure to the world. They stop it but not after it killing several people.

Season 2, Episode 8: A Day in the Death: Torchwood doesn’t **** anything up, but because there was nothing to **** up. No threats here. Owen DOES talk a woman out of suicide, which brings me back to how these guys are good at hugs.

Season 2, Episode 9: Something Borrowed: Gwen has an alien baby in her stomach, and it’s her wedding day. Jack tells her it is dangerous, but to Gwen her wedding day is more important than that so she goes anyway. A person at the wedding dies, the creature is stopped, and the wedding continues. No biggie.

Season 2, Episode 10: From Out of the Rain: Jack saves the day.

Season 2, Episode 11: Adrift: Gwen whines, ****s things up, but no one dies, so that is good. [I kinda like this summary :p] But then, no one’s life was really at threat.

Season 2, Episode 12: Fragments: A few back stories, but mainly it is a two-parter so…

Season 2, Episode 13: Exit Wounds: Kind of Jack’s fault. If no Jack, then no Grey, and that would mean no threat to the city.

And in case you are wondering, the author likes the show ... he really does. ;)

As you can see, Torchwood is not really a beneficial organization to the city. All my mockery aside, the series is fun. The first few episodes were weak, but the latter half of Season 1 is good. Season 2 is much better, and a few weak episodes in the middle, but the final two episodes were fantastic.

I've come across this interview: David Tennant is the best Doctor Who for me, says John Barrowman (http://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/entertainment/showbiz-news/celebrity-interviews/2009/02/13/exclusive-david-tennant-the-s-best-doctor-who-for-me-says-john-barrowman-86908-21119169/)

Apparently, John had a chance meeting with the Eleventh Doctor Matt Smith. And this is John's reaction:
"I feel like I've had an affair against David because I've met the new guy. I liked him but, David, my heart is always with you."
 John, you cheeky brat. :p

John said: "He [Matt Smith] walked right past me and he and I sat and had a chat. He's got some big shoes to fill when David leaves, but he'll bring his own spin to Doctor Who. He's very handsome, very quirky but striking. I think he'll do very well."

And bonus - John seems confident that Jack will be back on Dr Who in future: "... Captain Jack will still be there. We don't know yet, but the man who is now in charge, Steven Moffat was one of the ones who created Captain Jack and he will always return to help the Doctor when he's in need."

I'd love to see Captain Jack with the next Doctor. I'd like to see how the dynamics will change between the two.

True. Darn it. But, I know the feeling. I think the closest person to me that shares any kind of TW/DW/SG love is in Lagrange. LOL. There might be some here in Columbus, I just haven't met them yet.

I thought about going to Chicago to Torchsong, especially since they added Kai and Gareth, but the timing just isn't right. I'm hoping that Gareth will come to Dragon*Con again. :)

I'm still trying to convince my mother that, no, the South is not that bad, and that no, we don't have to move to Texas if we move out of state, and that no, Texas is NOT part of the south.

i still wouldn't recommend georgia love.... we have fracked up weather.... one week it's 70F, the next we get a good foot or so of snow, and then the week after that it's near 70F again.... and then two weeks ago, we got a snow flurry.... snow in april?! it just doesn't happen down here.... and of course now that it's well a truly spring, you can't walk outside without getting pollen all over you.... seriously, my car spends on average, two hours outside a week.... and despite the fact that i woke up to the tail end of a thunderstorm, the sidewalk was yellow again by the evening..... but if you do move to georgia, i won't complain ;)

There is still no definite airdate for S3 yet. Everything I have seen recently is saying the end of June.

Waiting sucks...

I had to leave DC on Saturday b/c my best friend passed away that day (she was in a car crash.) and I flew up North. Getting the news in the middle of a Con was not something I want to do again. Going back again this year and hoping to have a much better DC weekend.

I've heard some small snippets about TimeGate but not much.

John Barrowman Control Freak

"I am a perfectionist, I admit it," he said.
"I'm also a control freak.
"I don't mean that arrogantly. I'm smart enough to understand that I need to put a good team of people around me. Whether it's the person who sweeps the stage or my manager, their job is as important as mine in putting together a good show. It's about the whole package. I truly believe that. I've got a good team around me."

If anyone is going to the Liverpool venue tonight, I'm the long red haired nutter with the leather jacket on on the balcony at the front! :D Just so you know! You can't miss me, certainly with my gob!! :D

For those of you who are going but don't know where the Liverpool Philharmonic is (which is where the concert is), use this little trick: there are 2 cathedral in Liverpool, find one of them and head for the other one, the Philharmonic is half way between them. Its a big building with red benners on it. You can't miss it. Its on Hope Street and is close to Central station and Lime street station.

Thanks. The Birdcage, with Robin Williams and Nathan Lane was a very good remake
OT: I've heard about this remake, but I tend to be cautious when it comes to American remakes of French films. I usually found them somewhat lacking, it seems that it's really hard to translate French humour into American setting. Just visiting (remake of Les visiteurs) and My Father the Hero (Mon père, ce héros) are just two examples that come to mind. Anyway, it's good to hear that you enjoyed this one. I might give it a try. :)

And to make up for the OT post:

Try this John Barrowman Quiz. It's not very difficult, but you still might learn something new about John. Follow the link (http://www.gaydarnation.com/UserPortal/Quiz/Detail.aspx?ID=20059&sid=189).

I saw him last tuesday in Liverpool! You will have a brillient time! I did even though i couldn't hear.

Word of warning: if you are gonna wait by the stage door for photos etc, its most likely that he'll come out a different way. He did in Liverpool and pissed a lot of fans off in the process, including myself who missing the ending of the show just to get there first! My opinion is that it was the production team who made the decoy not john himself. The decoy is that EVERYONE, band members, staff, dancers, his folks EVERYONE get send out of the crowded way. Thats most likely the way he is NOT gonna come out of!

Oh, and btw, watch out for the drummer as John flirts with him through out the entire show! :D

An Interview With Eve Myles:

Warning, It doesn't have anything to do with bashing Gwen/Eve.

Read the full story and make up your own mind.

Q: When we last left Gwen Cooper and team Torchwood, they had just witnessed their home city of Cardiff attacked and lost two key members of their team. How is the team dealing with that when “Children of the Earth” opens and how has the dynamic of the team shifted?
A: In the first episode, the grieving process is out of the way. You really can’t be too melodramatic about the loss. In terms of this year, the theme is you have to lose to gain – they put humanity aside this year and try to save as much as they can, just minimize loss along the way. It seems harsh, but it really isn’t.

Yeah, I have this one, too. Some parts are really hilarious and although Ianto is a little OOC (understandable given the circumstances) I found the book quite enjoyable.
Saying that Twilight street is still my favourite TW book (loved the alternate future scenario and there's quite a lot of Ianto, too - that can't hurt either) :)

Going to London tomorrow. Yippee! Gonna get myself Pack animals and/or House That Jack Built. :D

Jack in CoE (spoilers)
I want to hug him yet hit him at the same time. I get that he needed to run away, it's part of him; what he's done since The Empty Child on forwards but at the same time it made me wonder if telling the Doctor that he changed and at the end of Exit Wounds the whole 'the end is where we start' was just a bunch of BS and now that he doesn't have any thing/reason to stay on Earth he's going to revert to his old con-man self.

The letter below is something i have just wrote and sent off via the email adress on JB website. I know that he'll never reply but doen't mean i can't do a bit of wishful thinking!! I want to share it with you guys. Here it is:

Dear Mr. Barrowman,

My name is Kady; I am a fan of yours and have been for several years. This letter is one of these things which I keep meaning to write but keep forgetting. I remember now, eh? I know I probably will not get a reply from you, but I hope you at least read it.

I went to see you on 19th of May at the Liverpool Philharmonic Hall as part of your Music Music Music tour. I have to say that it was the best night I have had in years and I want to thank you.

I am someone who has been deaf in some way all my life. I was born with nerve deafness in my right ear and I lost about 70% of my hearing in that ear. Then when I was 9 years old, the rest of my hearing went to total nothing in 2 months for no reason at all. In fact, I’m now 23 and I still don't know why I went deaf when I was 9. When I was 11 years old, I was lucky enough to have received the Cochlear Implant, which has totally changed my life. I’ll explain to you what a Cochlear Implant is in simple terms.

A cochlear implant (CI) is a surgically implanted electronic device that provides a sense of sound to a person who is profoundly deaf, i.e. me, or severely hard of hearing. The cochlear implant is often referred to as a bionic ear. Makes me sound futuristic, eh?

As a result of my hearing problems, I still have problems hearing things, such as your concert at the Philharmonic. I could hear you and the music but I couldn't understand what you were saying, the jokes you may have cracked and the songs you were singing. I was lucky enough to get one of the boxes, rather than the seat down below. I was in one of the very front ones (3rd box along) on your left. In fact you may have noticed me as I wasn't sitting properly! I kept putting my head and arms on the box wall balcony thing!!

The only song (apart from “What About Us?”) that I could hear and sing along to When You Tell Me That You Love Me. This is because when I went deaf at the age of 9, my dad used to sing song to me and this one was one of the most frequent songs that he sung to me. You really made that night for me with that song. Thank you so much.

It wasn’t just me who had a great night. I dragged my mum along as well! By the end of the night she was dancing away like there was no tomorrow!! Haha! She’s also fallen in love with the supporting artist, Daniel Boys!! It’s her 50th birthday today (3rd august) and I’ve got her Mr. Boys CD. It hasn’t arrived yet but shhh.....!

I would love to be able to go and see you at The Hub convention in Northampton in October or to see you perform in La Cage Aux Folles in September but unfortunately, I can’t as I can’t afford it! It’s just the way it goes, eh? One of these days though, I WILL meet you and when that happens you are going to get a very big hug off me to say thank you for the concert in May.

Thank you,

Yours Sincerely,

Kady Kelly

hey guys! Remember that letter i wrote and sent on August 3rd? Well i've recieved a reply! Not off JB himself, but its still a reply! :D Yay!!

Dear Kady,

Thank you so much for writing. John receives so many messages that he is unable to reply to them all personally, but he really does appreciate that people take the time to write to him.

John is always delighted to know how much people have enjoyed his performances and it's great to know that you had a good time at the concert in May. Thank you for explaning about your cochlea implant ("bionic ear"!). There's a DVD of the concerts (filmed in Glasgow) coming out in November so that would give you the opportunity to replay the parts you weren't able to hear at Liverpool and relive John singing your favourite songs.

Good to know that Daniel is gathering a fanbase too!

All the best,

Carole Gordon

The Twilight Streets has to be one of my favorite TW books (the other being Almost Perfect :D)
...

I'm back from London. And I got myself three TW books: The House That Jack Built, Pack Animals and Bay of the Dead. YAY!

There was a special 3 for 2 deal at Waterstone's so I simply got to get three TW books instead of two. I had to, I really did. ;)

I finished Bay of the Dead so far. And I have to say it isn't as bad as I feared expected - the book dealing with zombies and all.

To make up for the OT post:

Bay of the Dead was enjoyable enough but it had one major flaw. [see bellow]

What I really liked about the book:
I loved how Gwen was written. The author, Mark Morris, actually made me like Gwen. *gasp, shock, horror*
There's lots of Rhys and it can never be a bad thing. :D
Gwen/Rhys relationship is portrayed very well.
PC Andy gets to shine.
The whole story takes place in Cardiff and the author describes the city in such a way that I often felt compelled to dig up a map and have a look where the heroes are at the particular moment.
EDIT: I forgot to mention the cover. It has Ianto on it. Yay! :D

What annoyed me a little:
The prologue was unnecessary long. You keep wondering when Jack, Ianto or Gwen are going to appear for the first time.
The main plot is about zombies storming Cardiff, hardly a Nobel prize material. ;)
The final explanation "why and how zombies appeared in Cardiff" was shabby.
Deus ex machina solution at the end didn't bother me that much - it's Torchwood after all. Deus ex machina is bound to happen. ;)

What I didn't like at all:
Mark Morris can't write Janto. He really can't. That's a fact. His attempts at Jack/Ianto banter are not so bad . Anything else regarding the relationship as it is written in Bay of the Dead is just plain weird or patently OOC. There's a scene that illustrates my point quite well. I paraphrased it in a way that is I hope relatively unspoilery, but better safe than sorry. :)

At one point Torchwood SUV with Jack and Ianto inside gets surrounded by a group of zombies, they can't drive through the crowd and leaving the car would be a suicide. The conversation goes like this:
I: We need a plan.
J: I'm going out of the car. [and by that you would achieve exactly what?!]
I: You're out of your mind. [Amen to that.] The zombies will kill you, rip you apart and then they will eat you.
J: I have always liked new experiences. [WTF?!]*Jack prepares to leave the car then as an afterthought he leans forward and kisses Ianto on the forehead* [WTF?...Wait a minute ... he's going to die a horrible death and he kisses Ianto [B]on the forehead?!]
I: O.K. I won't argue with you. [WTF?!] BUT ... If you're going I'm going with you. [WHAT?!]
J: Ianto... I can survive everything but you're going to die and you'll stay dead. [ORLY?] You're not going. And that's my last word.
I: It's my decision, Jack. And I want to do it. I'll go with you and I'll be ripped apart and eaten by zombies. *Ianto stomps his not so little foot*[And what a cheery prospect that is!]
J: O.K. If that's what you want, let's both go out in a blaze of glory. You ready? [This is an actual quote, honestly.]
I: Ready.
J. Now!

Apparently, I paraphrased the dialogue. My thoughts are in red. :D But the last three lines are actual quotes from the book. No kidding.

When reading that I felt like in a twilight zone. It's just so patently OOC. I refuse to believe that Jack would let Ianto throw away his life in such a way, not to mention there's nothing to be gained from the two of them leaving the car. Fortunately we have CoE Day 1, that showed us how exactly Jack feels about Ianto dying [with him]

I know that there are some fans who buy TW books for Janto only. Unlike Twilight Street and Almost Perfect, this book won't make them happy. Believe me. :)

It reminds me that one of the books from the next batch, The Undertaker's Gift, should have had a Ianto cover but the publisher changed it to Jack cover recently. I may dig out a photo evidence somewhere on my HD. Any reason to ogle the prettiness of Jack and Ianto is good enough for me. ;)

Yeah, I prefer that one, too. Jack looks great there (shallow I know :o) and the whole cemetery idea appeals to me better than the monster/corpse in the vault.

The summary of the story looks interesting, too.

Torchwood should be ready for anything – but with Jack the target of an invisible killer, Gwen trapped in a forgotten crypt and Ianto Jones falling desperately ill, could a world of suffering be the Undertaker’s gift to planet Earth?

the rest of the summary here (http://www.bbcshop.com/Science-Fiction/Torchwood-The-Undertakers-Gift/invt/9781846077821)

The idea of Gwen trapped in a forgotten crypt with that creature from the cover makes me smile. Does that mean I'm evil?! :p

Undertaker's Gift sounds promising. I'm looking forward to the collection of short stories, it's called Consequences and it features tales by James Moran, Joseph Lidster, Sarah Pinborough and others. Might be interesting.

I'll save you time right now and don't read Another Life. I hated that book (more than Skypoint and Pack Animals)...there were so many OOC bits and it was a Jack and Gwen book so that didn't score points with me. honestly, (spoiler for Another Life) Owen would not play a MMORPG...Adam!Owen maybe but not normal!Owen :mckay:

The books you should read are The Twilight Streets (Ianto is made of win in this), Something in the Water, Trace Memory and Almost Perfect (although there are a few OOC moments in this one...but they're glancing ones)

John's schedule for October and November has now been firmed up. He will not be able to attend the Hub 3 Convention in Birmingham in October, but we are delighted to announce that he will be at Collectormania London, at Earls Court Olympia 2, on Sunday, 29 November.

I heard about that and how a bunch of people were wanting refunds because they were going just for him.

IMO
that's not a reason to go. You should go because you love the show and not the person. I mean, I've never met the man and so if I had the chance to go to see him and he had to cancel (which almost happened with TorchSong) yes I'd be disappointed but at the same time I'd be going for the show itself and not just for JB.

But that's just what I think. :D

I understand that for some fans this would be a major dissapointment. Thankfully TW is one of the shows where pretty much any member of main cast is funny and entertaining in such a way that he/she can make the event worth attending (take Kai, he's fabulous :D).

Digital spy has a relatively new video interview with John, it was done in his dressing room backstage at La Cage aux Folles. They discuss the musical, the future of Torchwood, his return to Doctor Who and the possibility of JB joining Desperate Housewives. John Barrowman talks 'Who', 'Torchwood' (http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/tv/a179453/john-barrowman-talks-who-torchwood.html)

BBC London talked with John about his return to the West End stage, too: "Too handsome" Barrowman accepts La Cage role (http://news.bbc.co.uk/local/london/hi/people_and_places/arts_and_culture/newsid_8288000/8288028.stm). I really loled at John's explanation why he doesn't like wearing tights :)

I've seen La Cage at the Playhouse Theatre this July. No John there, as he started in September, but it was great anyway. The whole cast was fantastic and the dance acts were just fabulous. Les Cagelles so totally rock. :)

It should be made into a cartoon movie!! LOL

I know right? I'm internet-friends with the person who draws it and she's pretty awesome. And apparently John knows about this (how could he not since it's so awesome? :D) and has a printout of a baby!Jack up in his office :P

I've never tried that one, but I've found that in general the picture quality on those sites is horrendous. :( (I have seen most of torchwood, just not with decent picture quality, which makes it kinda hard to really get into the thunk aspect of things.)
It won't be long now anyhow, my local library just got the dvd sets, so I'll get to watch it within a week or two.:D

Thanks anyhow! *hugs*

Hey everyone.. Don't know if anyone has seen this or not but over on the Torchwood Forum where I'm now hanging out as well, someone posted a link to a video of John dancing to Beyonce's "Single Ladies" it's only 43 seconds long but it's still HILARIOUS!!! Here's the link (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FEr0BPOfVw4)!!! enjoy! :D

EDIT: In my opinion, the only thing that make this even better is if he was in character as Captain Jack... Now THAT would've been good!!! (With Ianto staring off to the side trying to figure out what's wrong now.... Oooo Fanfic idea!!)

From JB Yahoo group:

John's schedule for February has now been confirmed. Unfortunately he has work commitments for 5 and 6 February which make it impossible for him to attend the SFX Weekender. Guests at conventions are announced subject to work commitments, and on this occasion, the event has clashed with another project.

Although the event has never been advertised on John's website, we understand that the convention organisers did list John as a planned guest.
