Did anyone else see the AFI award to George Lucas?

I watched it. It was good. It was very funny and kind of sweet. (You have no idea how hard it is for a guy to say something like that and still feel manly. sweet... ) They managed to get the old cast of Star Wars back together (Mark Hamill, Harrison Ford, and Carrie Fisher. Along with the characters Chewbacca, C-3PO, and R2-D2. Billy Dee Willams was there too.) Steven Spielberg was the presenter of the AFI Lifetime Acheivement Award, along with commentaries from fellow directors and producers such as Ron Howard, Ford Francis Copolla, Peter Jackson, and others. There was even a very funny appearance by William Shatner (singing a spoof on "I did it my way" at the beginning, with an unforgettable backup of Las Vegas kick-swing dancing Storm-troopers... They managed to roast George somewhat, with very funny and loving rants by Carrie Fisher (especially her.. *whew*), Mark Hamill, and Harrison Ford.

I wasn't sure how good it would be, but in the end it was a very enjoyable and somewhat touching show. Mostly it was just fun. I think the most memorable part was when Harrison Ford, Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, C-3PO, R2-D2, and Chewbacca were all on stage together in their positions in the last scene of the original Star Wars movie (episode IV). That was great...!

Judge yourself by the intentions of your actions, and by the strength with which you faced the challenges that have stood in your way. I LOVED IT!!!!!!! The beginning where "Captain Kirk" "sang" haha. The whole thing was hilarious. I used to be a huge Harrison Ford/Star Wars fan, so I got all the inside jokes that my parents didn't get haha. Harrison Ford was very funny and Carrie Fisher should be a comedian! Wow I almost died when she came on. George Lucas really does deserve the AFI Award and I'm glad they honored him with it this year, finishing EP III and all!

I loved Carrie Fisher's bit (paying royalties to look in the mirror, LOL!) It was also nice to see Mark Hamil's bit because he can get quite touchy about Star Wars. And Peter Jackson got skinny,
And it came to pass that in time the Great God Om spake unto Brutha, the Chosen One: "Psst!"

      Jack: You're so shallow.
Daniel: Oh please. Teal'c is like one of the deepest people I know. He's so deep. Tell him how deep you are. You'll be lucky if you understand this.
Teal'c: My depth is immaterial to this conversation.
      Daniel: Oh! You see?
Jack: (to Daniel) No more beer for you.

      River: My food is problematic.
