I watched it. It was good. It was very funny and kind of sweet. (You have no idea how hard it is for a guy to say something like that and still feel manly. sweet... ) They managed to get the old cast of Star Wars back together (Mark Hamill, Harrison Ford, and Carrie Fisher. Along with the characters Chewbacca, C-3PO, and R2-D2. Billy Dee Willams was there too.) Steven Spielberg was the presenter of the AFI Lifetime Acheivement Award, along with commentaries from fellow directors and producers such as Ron Howard, Ford Francis Copolla, Peter Jackson, and others. There was even a very funny appearance by William Shatner (singing a spoof on "I did it my way" at the beginning, with an unforgettable backup of Las Vegas kick-swing dancing Storm-troopers... They managed to roast George somewhat, with very funny and loving rants by Carrie Fisher (especially her.. *whew*), Mark Hamill, and Harrison Ford.
I wasn't sure how good it would be, but in the end it was a very enjoyable and somewhat touching show. Mostly it was just fun. I think the most memorable part was when Harrison Ford, Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, C-3PO, R2-D2, and Chewbacca were all on stage together in their positions in the last scene of the original Star Wars movie (episode IV). That was great...!
