New FPI Magazine will Have 3 BSG Cast Interviews

Thanks to the unofficial BSG Blog for the tip.

    New FPI magazine nears launch

    by Joe Gordon
    June 14, 2005

The Forbidden Planet Home Shopping Catalogue re-launches in July as FPI magazine. The catalogue has now been incorporated into an extensive cult entertainment magazine.

FPI promises exclusive interviews, features, news and articles covering all the areas for which Forbidden Planet is famous: comics, movies, cult TV and video games. Each issue will have interviews with celebrities, authors, artists and modellers - as well as articles written by industry experts and hardcore fans.

And of course, all the content ties-in nicely with the 100-plus page catalogue that contains more stock than ever before, all with a newly designed facelift.

The magazine has been re-launched by its editor, Matt Camp - former journalist for the UK's leading video game trade magazine MCV - with nearly a decade of experience in journalism and who was previously polled in the top five of the video game industry's most influential journalists in 2002.

"FPI is a unique magazine on the shelf because it wraps up absolutely everything for cult entertainment fans," said Matt. "Not only do you have unique and exclusive interviews and features on subjects across the cult spectrum, but also you have direct access to purchasing all its related merchandise. We have entertainment magazines and we have home shopping catalogues - but now with FPI we have a unique hybrid that truly represents the spirit of Forbidden Planet International."

Issue One launches the first week of July brimming with exclusive content. Just three of the things you can expect to see:

Tricia Helfer and James Callis - Number Six and Baltar from the re-imagined Battlestar Galactica - talk exclusively to FPI, as does Richard Hatch, the original Apollo from the 70's Battlestar Galactica (and guest-star in the excellent new series).

Star Wars special: two unique stars from the Star Wars movies talks exclusively to FPI.

Acclaimed Hulk artist Scott Lee chats to FPI about his work with Marvel and on the new Hulk videogame.

Issue One of FPI will be available exclusively from Forbidden Planet International stores across the UK in early July. Naturally we will be bringing your further news and details of this exciting development as we get closer to publication.

It's nice to be important, but it's more important to be nice.
