possible way to get to atlantis?

In The Fifth Race jack builds a extra power generator to get to the asgard home world. they can't re-use that generator because it's only able to be used once.

however, in Point of View, they build one for the other sam. but they do it on earth. whats the deal? and why dont they use it again to try other adresses and stuff in other galaxies?

so my question is, do you think it's the way they get to atlantis?

Actually, IIRC, the generator they used in POV was the same generator that Jack built.

The 2 Sam's look at it and figured out that they just needed to know the decay rate of naquadah to make it work again.

so they dont actually have another on earth??

coz i was talking to SaharaGate and she suggested (as we found it was also suggested on this site's summary of the ep) that perhaps the generator is now used whenever they need to contact the asgard?

No they always use the hall of Kahtal found in "red sky" to contact the asgard, but this might be a way to get to Atlantis.

Probably the reason that they don't use the device to power the gate to try other addresses is that they don't have a reference. A 7-digit input from a pull of 38 non-repeating addresses yields a very high result of many possible combinations. How many of those would be valid? We don't know.

Dark Helmet: No, it's not what you think. It's much, much worse!

Col. Sandurz: Prepare for light speed.
Dark Helmet: No, no, light speed is too slow.
Col. Sandurz: Light speed too slow?
Dark Helmet: Yes, we'll have to go right to...Ludicrous speed!
Col. Sandurz:Ludicrous speed! Sir, we've never gone that fast before. I don't think the ship can take it.
Dark Helmet: What's the matter, Colonel Sandurz...CHICKEN?!
