2004 - Stargate SG-3000 - Confirmed - (3/29/04) Six Flags has signed a deal to bring the new Stargate ridefilm to the simulator attractions at three of their parks in 2004: Six Flags Marine World, Six Flags Kentucky Kingdom and Six Flags Great America. Based on the popular Stargate SG-1 series, the story is set in the year 3000. “For over 700 years, the Stargates had been disabled due to concerns that they would end up under the control of sinister forces. Now in the year 3000, Stargate Command has developed a Gate Key, a device that provides ultimate control of all Stargates throughout the universe. The evil Queen Satra, a character created especially for Stargate SG 3000, wants to capture the Gate Key and gain control over the universe. The guest's mission is to retrieve the Gate Key from Satra and her powerful army and return it to Stargate Command.”

From what I've read, which maybe a little out of date, it's a motion-simulator ride where you go on a quest to retreive a "Gatekey" or something from a brand-new Goa'uld system lord.

Sounds kinda cheesy, I know. :) I'm wishing that it comes to the one around me, because I'd like to go and try it.

I've been resisting the urge to reply because I can't help chuckling over "exited" rather than "excited" - Freudian slip?

Hmmm... well if the story is canon, it's kind of disappointing in that we can likely tell that the SGC won't have done very much at all by show's end to defeat the Goa'uld :( Unless they were beaten to near-extinction and revived in force somehow... a lot can change in 1,000 years.

Oh gee... it's "nice" to see Jaffa costumes haven't changed in a millennia. :P

I guess that goes to show how inept the Goa'uld are at coming up with stuff of their own -- did they raid intergalactic thrift shops to costume their troops, too? ;)

Yes, it is a motion simulator ride, yes the storyline is cheesy. I was present at the Ky Kingdom premeire a couple of weeks ago. Members of the SG-Command.net costume and prop builders club were invited to be present as "window dressing". 11 members of SG-7 and SG-Delta were given VIP teatment and the honor of the first showing of the ride. After which we stood around and talked to guests and posed for photographs. We also received exclusive T-shirts. MGM or Six flags also provided 3 hotel rooms for our use. Photos of the event are posted to the SG-C.net web site.

I didn't think that Stargate: Infinity ever even mentioned the Tok'ra, the Goauld, the system lords, or anything. At least, unlike Infinity, this one does.

Actually, the Jaffa uniforms haven't changed much at all since Ra. See Moebius. I actually thought that the Jaffa uniforms in Stargate: The Movie were the best (but then again it would be smart NOT to be in a heavy thing in the middle of a desert).

From Moebius (past):

Well, if I happened to be there and doing something else I might go see it but I'd not go out of my way to see it. It looks kinda silly. Its like one of those attractons based on something that they cant fully stay true to, so they modify and then its stupid.
Those photos posted are not of the one they speak of because they're from Space Park Bremen which closed down a while back. I'd imagine it would be similar if not exactly the same, just moved straight over from Germany.

I've read several reviews of the ride in Germany. It sounds really stupid :D I still want to go just because ;) Besides, I'd try anything with "Stargate" in the name ;)

Its Not that good looking I agree that it is something from power rangers and its rediculus that they set it in the Future it kind of kills what could happen they should have set it in the past.

This is how they intend to introduce the existence of the StarGate program to the public. :D And they're doing it in order to beat Disney's new attraction: Space shuttle rides. :p

I was trolling through IMDB and came across this

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0320391/fullcredits

I have never heard of Stargate SG-3000 and there are very few details about it on the page.

It says that Don S. Davis did a voiceover and it was released through MGM in 2004.

Anybody know what it was?

SG-3000 was a ride in the Spacecenter Bremen indoor park in Bremen, Germany. The visitors were part of a short story which ended in a simulator. It was very very bad.

Well as far as I know it is still there, but the Spacepark Bremen is closed because of to less investors. So they run out of money.
The Park should become a big attraction with a Stargate ride, a Star Trek Borg Invasion 4-D ride and many more attractions. There was also an exhebition about the history of space flight (Bremen is an important city in production of ESA space satellites and space technology) .
The concept did not work. Maybe because Bremen is in the north of Germany. Such an attraction in the "Ruhrgebiet" or "Nordrhein Westfalen" would have worked much better, because it´s much closer to the Netherlands, Belgium and Nordrhein Westfalen has a lot of Airports (Cologne-Bonn, Dusseldorf, Dortmund, Muenster, Paderborn-Lippstadt) for Fans from France, Italy, UK...

I cannot remember the story of the ride, because my visit was in 2003. All I can say is that it had nothing to do with SG-1. The ride started in a SGC room and ended in a very cheap looking simulator where you saw a simulation movie about a fight with an Goa´uld.

PassmoreLab Converting MGM's Stargate SG-3000 Thrill Ride Visuals to 3-D

April 30, 2009

Updated simulator visuals will bring riders even further into the Stargate experience.

San Diego (PRWEB) April 30, 2009 -- PassmoreLab is collaborating with MGM Location Based Entertainment to convert MGM's Stargate SG-3000 simulator ride film from 2-D to 3-D. Stargate SG-3000 is a four-minute simulation experience based on MGM's long running Stargate SG-1 television series.

... "Stargate SG-3000's conversion to 3-D will make riders feel even more like they're really experiencing the sensation of going through a Stargate," said PassmoreLab President Greg Passmore. "The new and improved simulation film will add depth to the attraction and will be a hit with existing Stargate fans as well as those unfamiliar with the television series."

"We are pleased to be working with PassmoreLab to enhance the overall Stargate SG-3000 experience," said George Wade, Senior Vice President, MGM Location Based Entertainment. "With the upcoming premier of SGU: Stargate Universe on the Sci-Fi Channel later this year we felt there was no better opportunity to truly take guests on this enhanced journey through the Stargate and no one better to bring this to reality than the team at PassmoreLab."

Stargate SG-3000 has been featured at Six Flags Marine World in Vallejo, California and Six Flags Kentucky Kingdom in Louisville, as well as Lotte World in Seoul Korea since 2004. The ride debuted at the Space Center Bremen in Germany in December 2003 to rave reviews...

Just for info, the Stargate SG-3000 isn't listed at the Six Flags site (http://www.sixflags.com/national/index.aspx).
