STARGATE STARS WARP VOICES INTO VIDEOGAME
The bloke from MacGyver and other folk from the TV show signed on to voice the game
15:48 There was a wonderful moment when we went to E3. We were passing the JoWooD stand and we were sure we saw the bloke from MacGyver posing for photos.
Yup, it was Richard Dean Anderson, who also happens to play Jack O'Neal in the Stargate SG-1 TV show. We tried to get him to fix our broken dictaphone using only some ice lolly sticks and a paperclip but he's obviously lost his touch.
This random story does have a point, trust us. It turns out that Richard was there not only to promote JoWood's Stargate SG-1 game but also to announce that he and his Stargate colleagues would be offering their voice talents to the upcoming SG-1 game, due out on Xbox, PS2 and PC later in autumn.
Alongside Richard is Micheal Shanks (Daniel Jackson), Amanda Tapping (Samantha Carter) and Christopher Judge (Teal'c). Each actor will voice the role of their individual character within the game.
The Stargate SG-1 videogame is an FPS built on the Unreal engine with plenty of team elements thrown in for good measure. Fans of the TV show will no doubt be delighted to hear that the game takes place just before the episode 'Threads' in series 8 of the show, where Anubis has resurrected the ancient and evil Haaken. Zoiks.
All this leaves us with just one question - when will we see a MacGyver videogame? Make it happen, game developer blokes.

Each of the actors will be playing the console version of their characters in the game and adding their unique characteristics to the role.
Richard as Jack will use his extensive military training to lead the team to otherworldly adventures. Michael as Daniel will exploit his vast knowledge of the past ancient civilizations, mythology and translation of ancient language. Amanda as Samantha the astro-physics genius will also make good use of her military training and finally Christopher as Teal"c", a wise alien whose species is known as "Jaffa" will put to good use the fact that he was once a member of the Goa'uld Apophis notorious Serpent Guard.
