    Petzke_42's Word of the Day

In an attempt (albeit sad) to educate the populace, this will be my dictionary.com word of the day thread. Every day there is a new word of the day at http://www.dictionary.com. I will post it here, along with the definition, and TRY (I'm sure some words will be harder than others) to use it in a Stargate-related sentence. Here we go:

Word of the Day for Saturday June 5, 2004
    comely \KUHM-lee\, adjective:
    1. Pleasing or agreeable to the sight; good-looking.
    2. Suitable or becoming; proper; agreeable.

Pete thought Sam looked very comely in her dress at the party.

That's a perfectly harmless example...you should have started a few days earlier; as I recall, one of the words from last week was autochthonous...THAT'S a hard one - would have merited an example sentence with Daniel, I reckon

Haha, yeah, it was an easy one....

BTW, this thread isn't meant to say that the fine people at the Gateworld.net board are uneducated.

Hey! I'm a know-it-all. Atleast that's what my friends all tell me.
Dark Helmet: So, Lone Starr, now you see that evil will always triumph because good is dumb.
Dark Helmet: No, it's not what you think. It's much, much worse!

Col. Sandurz: Prepare for light speed.
Dark Helmet: No, no, light speed is too slow.
Col. Sandurz: Light speed too slow?
Dark Helmet: Yes, we'll have to go right to...Ludicrous speed!
Col. Sandurz:Ludicrous speed! Sir, we've never gone that fast before. I don't think the ship can take it.
Dark Helmet: What's the matter, Colonel Sandurz...CHICKEN?!

does anyone here know the difference between a geek and a nerd?
coz it's an important distinction apparently.
at least it is according to my self-confessed geek brothers.
they call me a nerd - yet I would actually call myself a neek - that rare cross breed.
