As you know, there are numerous references to The Simpsons in Stargate-SG1... some of these references are downright disproportional and almost seem like a type of oral product placement -- such as in "The Lost City (Part 1)"! Now, at the risk of getting into a chicken-and-egg cycle, how did all of this start?
Was Richard Dean Anderson a fan of The Simpsons to begin with? Or, is this a wink and a nod way to thank The Simpsons for Patty & Selma's RDA obsession? Or does it originate from somewhere else entirely? The "Burns as Goa'uld" conversation had me laughing SO much, it was one of those slightly surreal conversations like those found in Quentin Tarantino movies that *really* makes ya think. Ya think??
So, what's the story behind this?
