Absolutely. I think Vala is a fun character and he rinteractions with Daniel are humorous. That being said, I really don't think the constant innuendo/skull duggery is necessarily a good thing. She talks a lot like a hussy from the Daniel/MS thunk thread lol. Perhaps if they tone her character down a bit and reign in the thieving, lying etc., she could fit in with the team more. Even then, I don't think she and Daniel should be together. It just seems so wrong to me. Maybe I just can't identify with her character, but I know I won't enjoy a relationship where the participants are completely disparate. I also wouldn't like it if Daniel just gave in to her seduction attempts. It would not be good for either of their characters.

I agree, Royal. I'm worried that if they tone her down too much, Daniel might fall for her. Even if they do that, I wouldn't be happy because to me, they're just too different in personality. CB said in an interview that Vala does have a moral compass - maybe, but I don't see it being as strong as Daniel's. I agree that it wouldn't be good for either of their characters.

I'll stop my ranting now too (or try to anyway, lol).

New to the board and wanted to say "HI" to the Daniel/Sam shippers first.

I have been a Daniel/Sam shipper since season 1 episode 1 and have wanted them to get together for 9 freaking seasons with no luck.

Jack/Sam I have never gotten at all. The man is pretty much old enough to be her father and they have nothing in common. She is a woman of science and has a love of learning she needs a man like Daniel who understands her and loves the same things in life she does. And actually respects her mind and her on every level.

Welcome to the thread, Dark Monarch! I totally agree with you about Jack/Sam. Daniel does respect her mind more, although there have been a couple of instances this season that have made me question that....

In Ripple Effect, when Sam was explaining in the beginning about how she thought the breach came about, Daniel takes off his glasses and pinches the bridge of his nose and he almost acts as if he can't bear to listen to it. Then later when they're all in the control room and she's explaining something else (can't remember what, but it was more technobabble), Landry has this confused look on his face. Daniel sort of rolls his eyes and has a dismissive expression, like "don't even try to understand it." Maybe I'm making too much of it, reading too much into it, but I've never seen him do that. It was almost as if he was channeling Jack.

Luckily, that's the only time I've seen him act that way this season, so it's not too much of a big deal. Jack, on the other hand, could never stand to listen to Sam when she technobabbled. She and Daniel just have so much more in common and they respect each other for it.

Hey that's great! I actually tried to make one myself but the only thing I have here is Photoshop and I couldn't get all the frames of that gif in there so I could replace Jack with Daniel (yep that's how I planned on making it...lol). I have something else called Animation Shop at home, but not sure if that could work...

Any computer savvy folks here on this thread who might be able to help??

Oooh...that's toughie. Right now I'd have to say Singularity (as my sig banner shows, lol). I just loved so much how Daniel was there for Sam, telling her that she didn't have to go through this alone, the scene where they were both watching Cassie in the VIP room... I can almost guarantee that there was a hug right after Sam said "I forget you're not military"... there should have been, anyway.

And I love the scene at the end with him and Sam swinging Cassie in the park - the perfect "family" image!

(and please disregard my pleading for a S/D icon...I cracked open Animation Shop and was able to make one. It's now in my sig!)

THat is a tough one. I would have to say right now it would be Fire and Water or Arthurs Mantle. I haven't seen any of the early episodes in a while.

Unfortunately, Ihaven't seen many of the early eps (in the process of gathering those lol), but the eps that combined to make me a shipper were "Sacrifices" (they just seemed so comfortable with each other) Both "Reckonings" and "Moebius 1".
