Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow (!?!?)

Words can't describe how strange this looks, it looks like a kids sci-fi/cartoon noir action film, only it has Gwyneth Paltrow, Jude Law and Angelina Jolie. Oh, and for some reason the trailer uses the Stargate SG1 theme music, which sounds so incredibly out of place.

I saw the trailer, what a weird preview, especially with stargate music.

im looking forward to it. it looks really good. its a modern movie in the style of the noir, over the top scifi movies of the 20s and 30s. to often today scifi movies have to be believeable as something that could be replicated in real life and i think that that has weakened science fiction as a genre for storytelling. this movie is gonna be awesome!

              From the FilmScoreMonthly.com FAQ:
              (Sky Captain trailer music)
"Q: What was the music I heard in a trailer to an upcoming film?

A: Motion picture trailers today are almost always produced independent of the actual films they are advertising. Certain pieces of music have become very popular amongst these trailer production companies for their ability to "sell" a movie and convey a lot of emotion in a short period of time -- hence they are frequently used in trailers to unrelated pictures."

In that FAQ (in further answer to that Q) they have a link to this site: http://www.soundtrack.net/trailers which has a list of movies and what music (both original and not) was used in which trailers.

Would it shock you to know that, according to the site, some of the early trailers for Stargate included music from Bram Stoker's Dracula? I did some searching and found the following site:
              http://www.stargate-commando.de/download/dlvideo.html

Download "Stargate trailer II" (prepare.zip) and listen closely to the background music. I'm not dedicated enough to download Dracula and compare, but whatever music was used, it wasn't from Stargate...

I've seen maybe two eps of Futurama. The quote wasn't in either of them.

Yeah my friend and I went to see hellboy and saw that trailor and we both started yelling about angelina jolie killing stargate. A riot ensued and we narrowly escaped getting kicked out by hiding behing a jabba the hutt lookalike.
