Earth Symbol are we getting a bad deal

    hello,
weve saved the asguard how manys time, at least 3 or 4 and eliminated the replicators, given them a weapon to fight them with, and saved their race from certain destruction; and what to we get, a shield and weapon combo for a ship!
the asguard are really good politician beause their getting away with murder, we should of let the reps wipe them out, them wiped them out and then got the asguards tech for free!
what do you think, am i right or do you think we should get more of them.

You are the fifth race, your role is clear, if there is any hope in preserving the future it lies with you and your people ~ 8years for those words

I guess the Asgard have the whole galaxy to look into. So to say they are rather busy would be an understatement. I am sure they in time they will share more with earth. Eight yrs is nothing compared to 1000's of yrs for the Asgard and it's "heady group".

Plus the Taou'ri must be well respected by the asgard, they named their flagship after a taou'ri!..although Thor does kinda have a thing for Jack!

Haven't you been reading the forum...Thor has a thing for Sam!
And it came to pass that in time the Great God Om spake unto Brutha, the Chosen One: "Psst!"

    Jack: You're so shallow.
Daniel: Oh please. Teal'c is like one of the deepest people I know. He's so deep. Tell him how deep you are. You'll be lucky if you understand this.
Teal'c: My depth is immaterial to this conversation.
    Daniel: Oh! You see?
Jack: (to Daniel) No more beer for you.

    River: My food is problematic.

Yeah, making an enemy of the Asgard would obviously be a really good move.

Also remember that the Asgard have helped us out in other ways, too, not just by giving us weapons and technology. For one, they helped to aid in controlling the Gao'uld threat (in the early seasons) by enforcing the Treatyof Endangered Planets (can't recall the exact name, but that's what comes to mind). Asgard also helped on various rescue missions here and there and also in political squabbling on earth. Sure, it seems like we're giving more than we're getting, but also remember that payback doesn't always come in the form of a weapon of some piece of advanced technology.
