Default How to build a stargate

    Ok...

According to a bunch of stupid theories that you don't want to hear about, wormholes can form in the presences of blackholes, and/or they open and close randomly.
    BLACKHOLE
    SPACETIME--------------> WORMHOLE

    lol

Now you can hold open and inlarge a wormhole by pumbing antimatter-ish (forgot the name) typt stuff into it.

    Only 3 problems
    1)Where to get the wormhole
    2)Where to get the antimatter-ish
3)How to get it into the wormhole

    THE WORMHOLE
I have a idea that if your dischange enough energy into a small point in space, it may open a wormhole

    THE ANTIMATTER-ISH
    Negitivly charged ions

    PUMPING IT IN

You discharge the energy into the negitive ions

That was short and sweet. It might work.

Taken from Scientific American, Special Edition "The Edge of Physics" May 31, 2003

(Just a wee bit more technical)

"When applied to wormholes and warp drives, the quantum inequalities imply that such structures must be limited to submicroscopic sizes, or, if they are macroscopic, the negative energy must be confined to incredibly thin bands. In 1996 we showed that a submicroscopic wormhole would have a throat radius of no more than 10 to the minus 32 meter. This is just slightly larder than the Planck length, 10 to the minus 35 meter, the smallest distance that has meaning....

In one model, a throat radius of one meter requires the negative energy to be a band no thicker than 10 to the minus 21 meter, a millionth the size of a proton. Visser has estimated that the negative energy required for this wormhole has a magnitude equivalent to the toal energy generated by 10 billion suns in one year"

Kinda shuts down the possibilities of a 2 story high Wormhole that transports people, objects, energy etc. across a galaxy, lol.

You need a toaster, a microwave, some titanium and a few other little things conveniently available through ebay.

Yeah, a toaster, microwave, and a bunch of metal coils and wires and stuff.
