Multi Gate Energy Requirements

Maybe I'm missing something but in Reckoning Part 2 how come dialing millions of gates at once doesn't require millions of times as much energy to do?

I always figured they weren't traditional wormholes in the first place. Sort of like those mass reverse telephone message systems in natural disasters. If you stepped through, you'd be converted to energy but not reconverted anywhere else.

That or the individual DHD's provide the power for each gate.

We know from SGA´s "home" that either gate can power the connection. So yea, each gate's own DHD powered the connection.
