Which Stargate series had the best pilot episode?

Atlantis all the way.

Children of the Gods isn't all that bad especially when they redid it several years ago. It is just dated.

Universe was just too slow and I never truly got into it until the 2nd season.

Didn't watch SGU (sorry) but my vote goes to Children of the Gods.

I'd have to say Rising. I did like Children of the Gods very much and I still need to see the director's cut of it. It does have a very 90's feel to it and I'm okay with that. I love seeing how the show has evolved over the decades.

I utterly loathe Air: 1-3. I didn't like the characters, the constant flashbacks, and the plot just didn't engage me. Three episodes to sort out their breathing problem?

By comparison, Rising set up likeable (and un-likeable: I really didn't like McKay at first) characters, it introduced and resolved its impending doom situation and set up the show's main villains all in the space of two episodes.
