    Vis Uban

I have always wondered what Vis Uban would have looked like if it hadn't been cancelled due to the plague.

Anyone have any thoughts as to what it would have looked like. Personally I have thought it would be either 2 or 3 times the size of Atlantis.

It probably would've been a more advanced and bigger atlantis, yes

From what we saw of Vis though (when daniel was put there neked), it looked more like a proper city, not a city ship.

Well we can't be really certain whether these ruins were Vis Uban ruins though.

Yeah, The planet we don't know what it was called by the Ancients but the final new city that was being built by the Ancients was called Vis Uban and it was being constructed on this planet. where its construction site was in relation to the permanent colony structures we don't know. They were in a rush But we do know that the Ancients where very good at hiding things from sensors. We could assume that the architectural style Vis Uban would have been was the "Atlantis style" and Atlantis was probably the first of the line. Vis Uban would have been the largest and from the most advanced of all the city ships once completed. But like it was said, Construction was halted because of the plague that spread across the entire ancient domain. Probably wasn't at at all powered up.

Lets not forget that the Goa'uld never found the Ancient Device on Dakara yet they had controlled Dakara for some time and the power source for the Dakara Monument was still providing power, what that source is we don't know.

Going back, we can safely say that the ruins were not Vis Uban itself, Atlantis had been completed at this time. The plague nearly wiped out all the ancients and from a vast empire populated by there kind reduced almost to the populations in there finest project to date. "Atlantis" Atlantis left Earth with the uninfected Ancients to save their kind.

True.. They might have been a land locked city where workers lived while construction of the city ship would have gone on.

Well, if we go by the SGA history of the ancients, there's around 5-10 million years between Vis Uban (that is, Atlantis leaves the Milky Way) and modern day. IIRC the ruins were brick-like. In that timespan we could've had a thousand human civilizations like ours populate the planet and build those ruins.

So, i'm saying that the ruins we saw in Fallen may not be the ruins of Vis Uban at all, in fact they may not even be Ancient but in stead made by a human civilization.

True. There were humans there who took daniel in.. so maybe those ruins were the remnants of a prior civilization.
