What became of certain SG members?

Like, Jack, Sam, Mitchell, Sheppard, Daniel, Tealc, Vala and McKay?

Regadring Jack, the last thing we know that he was Head of The Department Of Homeworld Security, maybe by now he is retired.

Sam became the commander of the Hammond in 2009, is it known for how long she held that position and what came after that? At the Stargate wiki page that is listened:

Roughly two years after the defeat of the Ori, Carter was later promoted to Brigadier General and was put in charge of Stargate Command, placing her in command when the base was attacked by the System Lords Third Battle Group. (Stargate Resistance)
Can that be taken as canon?

I heard there are some books of Stargate, maybe there are some hints.

    Thanks

I suppose this is just personal preference, but I don't count anything that happens in the books as canon. More like published fanfiction. I'd probably feel the same way about any videogames, especially seeing as though Resistance, according to the wiki, is offline.
    rest easy now

Other than stuff in fanfiction, the last we know about Sam is she was commanding The Hammond as of the time of SGU. And Jack was still in command of Homeworld Security. Given that it has been about 5 years since SGU ended, it's probably safe to assume Jack would be retired, since retirement age is 65.

The wiki page where Sam was promoted to Brigadier General was based on one of the Stargate games, and in my opinion is not canon, since it never happened within the series.

The rest of the group (SG1 and SGA) have been referred to in lots of fanfiction stories. There is a series of books about Atlantis after the 5th season, called The Legacy Books, published by Fandemonium or StargateNovels.com. All the books published by this group are approved by MGM, and some people take them as canon. There are 25 SG1 books within that group, and nearly that many about SGA. Most of them are really good, some are not. If you go to the StargateNovels.com site, you can see a list of the available books and what they are about.

Jack would be 63 now, so maybe he is not retired, I was hoping the books would maybe clarify what has become of them.

I´m reading Moebius squared right now (really good book) and Carter said that the job on the Hammond, starting 2009, would last 2-4 years (very long time actually and never with visiting home? She would never see Jack during that time, not good for my shipper heart ;-))

I really likes the idea that she would command the Stargate center, maybe when Landy retires.

It´s a bit confusing, which books are set after the ending of the entire series (including SGU)? If there are any at all.

I don't think there's anything official on this, but logically:

Jack continues to work for Homeworld Command, then retires.
Sam, given her decision to lead the Hammond, is a likely candidate for the SGC. We don't quite know how long Landry will stay there though.

Mitchell will likely lead SG1 and it's incarnations to come.
Sheppard likely gets his own SG team like Mitchell.
Daniel will either remain on SG1 or work for Homeworld command /the SGC in some way. His alien relations expertise will likely land him in a specialist job.
Teal'c can do a lot of jobs, including for the Jaffa or Earth.
          Vala is probably on SG1.
Mckay would likely work for Area 51.

Regarding the SGA crew, though Atlantis is now on Earth, i would expect a small base to be established in Pegasus to keep an eye on things. Especially considering there's plenty of Ancient stuff left that may allow the Wraith to reach Earth.

The Hammond wouldn't be gone for the whole 2-4 years. Like the Odyssey and Apollo, missions would be weeks at a time or even a few months at a time, then come back to earth for an extended leave for the whole crew. So Sam and Jack would get to be with each other every time she came home on leave.

You would have to sift through a lot of fanfiction to find stories that take place after all the series have finished, but I'm sure there are some out there. I've read a couple of them that do take place after all the series have finished, but they are about how advanced earth's tech stuff became and how earth became the leader in the Milky Way Galaxy, and how they go back and revisit a lot of stories that were never resolved within the series, as well as way to much narrative and not enough interaction between people, plus HUGE battles between various adversaries.

Oh that´s good that she is not so far away for so long, then I wonder what she was referring to that she excepts Jack will wait for her. Maybe it was really children related, cause being away for a couple of months is not that unusual, other couples have the same problems.

Can you tell me what books have also a bit Sam/Jack shiping or good Sam stories?

I don't think any of the novels take place after SGU ended. All of the Atlantis post-series ones so far take place during SGU. In fact, there's a reference to the attack on Icarus Base in one of them (but I don't remember which off the top of my head).

None of them actually have Sam/Jack shipping, but they are referred to in the Atlantis Legacy series. Actually, the "Roswell" book has a bit of shippiness, if you are paying attention to the story Also, "Relativity" has a bit of shippiness in it; also, if you are really paying attention to the story.

If you are looking for fanfiction related to Sam and Jack, a group of us on the "Sam and Jack Ship Appreciation Thread" created a bunch of lists with links to a lot of stories about them.

Here's a link to List of Sam and Jack Fics (siblings, parents, etc.)

In the first post is a list of links to all the subjects listed. The links to the stories on the subject starts right after that.

Thank you for the link, but for now I will stick to the books That´s enuogh work for me, now I´m reading Roswell and I´m excited for the new book "My enemies enemy" that focus more on Sam, coming this summer.

Regarding the Sam and Jack ship, recently I have a hard time thinking if it is canon or not, do you know some other hints (from interviews and so on) that I don´t know?

I know that Joseph Malozzi said in 2008 that he thinks they would be together since the events of "Threads", then the delated Antlantis scene from "Trio" and that in the early scipt from the Stargate movie, that sadly never has been made, there was a dinner scene what should make clear that both are in fact together.

                      Is there anything more?

Sadly, there's nothing more at this point.

Well in series there are several hints that Sam and Jack are together like when Sam said she is "not exactly" single after she broke up with Pete (S09E07 Ex deus machina) or photo of Daniel when she is on Atlantis from the "wedding" in 200 (S10E06).

I wouldn't consider novels as canon (more likely good fanfics). For example in Moebius squared there are several things that are quite impossible or illogical.

But aren´t those novels approved by MGM?!?! So imo they are almost canon, definitely more than fan fiction.

That doesn't work as all novels have to be approved by MGM to be published. And several of the novels violate the canon of the TV show. SGA: Blood Ties being a prime example
