Why didn't SGA have mythology like SG1?

The reason SGA didn't have a mythology/religion theme was because of the change in antagonist. In SG-1 the Goa'uld took on the roles of Gods in mythology to keep the human and Jaffa populations under control. The Ori used religion because they somehow fed off the energy of their worshippers (never understood that one).

However, the antagonists in SGA, the Wraith, were just aliens that sucked the life out of you... literally. They never enslaved populations like the Goa'uld and therefore never had to keep populations under control (they just ate them). Also, SGA was much more focused on the Ancients and collecting their old tech and fixing their mistakes.
