working on a 'new' Stargate series?

I've heard that a new Stargate series for television is in the works . Anyone else heard of it ?

Maybe it's the reboot of the original Stargate movie you are thinking of? Supposedly it's going to be a trilogy. And given that this is in the works, it's highly unlikely there would also be a TV series in the works.

I've never heard of a new series. I heard the movies are getting rebooted. I hope there's a new series in the making though.

Yeah, the original movie is getting rebooted. Which means no stuff from the TV shows.

But if they'd make a TV series that is a direct continuation of the trilogy, I'd watch it (Movie 1 > Movie 2 > Movie 3 > TV series).

^ This is my theory as well : do he movie trilogy and do a rebooted series as a spin off of that, kind of what TPTB are doing with STAR TREK now. BothTrek and STARGATE are well established franchises that will return to T.V. eventually, of that I have little doubt. Am cautiously optimistic about the new movies, and will be interested to see if they can do it right and where they go based on reports here on GW and other sites. Any new STARGATE - provided it's done correctly - is a good thing in my book.

I'd prefer if they do Movie 1> Mini Series 1> Movie 2> Mini Series 2> Movie 3 > TV Series. And then throw in some books and maybe a game or two into the mix. Make it all part of the canon and then for the Comic Book Readers, they can make a few of those.

Probably after Deviln, Emerich, MGM and Warner Bros get a production team together and when the two start writing it. It's 20 years later and they really can't do a sequel with the original movie's cast. They have to do the casting again, which includes re-casting every character. They might even need to re-write the original movie and do it with the new cast.
