    "33" A Battlestar Poem

Just wanted to share this with you guys.

The cylons were created by man.
They evolved and developed a plan
to kill their masters and nuke their lands.
    United against mankind they stand.

Now with human bodies they set out on the plot,
Infiltrating governments and things of the lot.
When enough data was gathered their nukes went hot.
And mankind, caught off guard, couldn't fire a shot.

The baseship hybrids managed the show,
    Sending forth deadly nuclear blows.
Seeing the fight unfold as it goes,
What is the limit to what she knows?

The colonies of man lay trampled at their feet,
Decimated and destroyed by atomic heat.
But mankind was not ready to be beat,
and were chased throughout the stars by the cylon fleet.

    Every thirty-three minutes they attack,
Raiders, flying through the sky like bats.
When a lost ship somehow makes it back
Apollo shoots it down, fearing it was tracked.

They set out towards the mythical planet called Earth
Looking for a new place to settle and give birth.
Asking themselves along the way, what is man worth?
Wondering which of their races will get there first.

    A baby is born, half-cylon, half-man.
A hybrid child, sent from God's hand.
Destined to carry out His commands,
Roslin hides her from the cylon clans.

They soon found Kobol, as Leoben had foreseen.
The abandoned old world of man, covered in green.
They set down on the surface, both man and machine,
and found a map to Earth, the home of the thirteen.

Out of the blue comes Admiral Cain.
The fleet is thrilled and they toast champagne.
But soon they realize she is insane.
And a bullet soon enters her brain.

The blood of Hera cures the Presidents cancer.
And Baltar sells New Caprica as an answer,
Calling it a quality of life enhancer,
They settle on the surface, amid light banter.

After a year the cylons returned,
and the party of man was adjourned.
Putting in place rules overly stern,
Baltar soon, by the people, was spurned.

Months later the Galactica returned to fight,
and save their fellow men from their terrible plight.
Jumping into battle without fear and forthright,
They achieved their goal, of the crew, to reunite.

Diana learns what it is to love,
Embracing Hera, like a white dove.
    Abandoning the battle thereof,
Allowing man to flee from above.

Seeking food on an algae planet, they arrive.
There Chief Tyrol discovers the Temple of Five.
Diana sees their faces but doesn't survive.
And they all flee from the nova with their jump drives.

Diana is boxed for what she's seen.
Placed in cold storage, resting serene.
Hera is rescued from the machines,
along with a Six, who helped intervene.

Starbucks destiny, confirmed through Jupiters Eye,
began unfolding faster as her death drew nigh.
She flew into a maelstrom nearby in the sky.
As Lee watched her explode, after she said goodbye.

    Baltars trial produced collisions.
While Roslin and cylons shared visions.
The verdict was a tough decision.
    Roslins faith underwent revision.

Entering the Nebula their ships lost power.
Four in the fleet heard All Along the Watchtower.
Starbuck returned from death, like annual flowers.
A raider recognized Sam as not one of ours.

Starbuck was met with mixed affection,
    and given a thorough inspection.
    Locked away at Roslins election,
    Screaming "Earth's the other direction!"

Baltar settles in with a monotheist cult.
Connecting with the one true god, he does exult.
The final five are hidden in the fleet, occult.
A Six named Natalie starts a cylon revolt.

    Baltars spiritual message expands.
    Starbucks crew disobey her commands.
Sam then shoots Gaeta right where he stands.
Starbucks face awaits the hybrids hands.

Her utterances were hard to apprehend.
Except for the closing statements that she expends,
Roslin and her visions, she will soon comprehend,
And Kara is the Harbinger, bringing the end.

    A human-cylon alliance formed,
and tensions within the fleet were warmed.
    Together they decided to storm
the Resurrection Hub, which they swarmed.

Diana was awoken from her deep slumber,
and threatened to blow the human fleet asunder.
Baltar stressed that this was a serious blunder,
She backed down, and they set off towards Earth, in wonder.

Four of the final five were revealed,
Starbuck finds her body in a field.
Beneath Earths ground cylon bones are concealed.
Diana stays on Earth, ready to yield.

Roslin loses faith in her religious beliefs.
Cally is still dead and now the kid isn't Chiefs.
Tom Zarek and Gaeta have both been debriefed,
and initiate their plans, sowing pain and grief.

Their mission failed and the ball was dropped.
    Their entire agenda soon flopped.
Order was restored and their mess, mopped.
Felix Gaetas last words were, "It stopped."

During the mutiny much blood and tears were shed.
Many men were injured and many men were dead.
Chief stopped the ship from jumping while the fleet was spread.
And as fate would have it, Sam was shot in the head.

    Awoken were long lost memories.
Ellen was helped by her enemies.
The ship is weak and needs remedies.
    Starbuck starts playing strange melodies.

Hera gave to Kara the Earths coordinates.
Then she was kidnapped by Cavils subordinates.
Knowing the loss of Hera was unfortunate,
A mission was planned, but wasn't an ordinance.

Attacking the colony right on the frontlines,
Hera was rescued during the peak of crunch time.
Cavils death serves as a nihilistic punchline.
Starbuck jumps the ship into the heart of sunshine.

They saw their new home and everyone was impressed.
Setting down on the ground, where mankind coalesced.
Kara's destiny done, she vanishes to rest,
As mankind spreads across the globe, finally blessed.

Angels of God are left to reflect and discuss,
The long cycles of time that forever plague us.
They ponder the notions of what's happened to men,
and wonder to themselves, Will it happen again?
