It's been really annoying me that we never got to find out what the message Destiny was looking for said. My guess is it's someone aboard Destiny warning of something to come (Most likely Rush).

What was the signal during the big bang?

I'm guessing it could also have to do with the Alien race that created the planet that some of Destiny's crew chose to stay on. Maybe Rush was onto them or something since he's suspicious of everyone so they sent to back in time or they were about to kill him so he jumped through an event horizon that happened to coincide with a solar flare, it took him back in time and the only way to warn the crew was to create the message. The more I think about it the more Idea's I get ha, I could go on forever...

One of the theories of the Big Bang is that our universe is one of many cycles.
Essentially, at one point in it's lifetime the universe collapses into itself, forming a new singularity and creating a new universe.
The signal could be either a message or "noise" from a previous universe.
Anyway, since our theories of the cosmos rely on it being quite the same in every direction, and since any kind of "signal" is a violation of that theory, it's worth checking out.

No idea myself but it's also been winding me up too.
How annoyed would you all be if they actually got to solve it and discover that nothing is real.. and then suddenly they show the guy who wrote the original movie wakeing up saying "I've just had a great idea for a movie.."
I'd be mighty miffed lol

Guess we never gonna know since the writers didnt bother to tell us.
On other scifi shows like John Doe when the show got canceled prematurly at least they tied up lose ends on their blog by filling in the gaps (Explained John Doe's origins and the reason for his omnisience).
Ditto for Caprica where they changed the final ep to give us better closure.

I found this plot line silly too, because based on Rush's own theory, that Destiny uncovers pieces of the secret gradually over millions of years, and its yet to make any breakthroughs--Rush even said he doubted there would ever be a big discovery, just lots of little ones that add up to the answer--you're left with it being statistically impossible that Destiny would make the discovery during Rush's lifetime.
From a common sense POV, Rush would be far better off conning his way onto Atlantis, using their ascension chair, and taking the risk that he would get to the higher plane.sigpic"Most of our John Sheppard impressions sound more like a demented Jimmy Stewart than Joe Flanigan."

Think about it theres no scientific explanation for someone who knows absolutely everything so the explanation has to be supernatural !
