Chevron 8.1 London, UK April 4-6 2014

My 'ticket' arrived in the post yesterday.
I'm now counting down the days until I go.

Hi all,
I got back from Chevron 8.1 on Monday afternoon. Where I had a fantastic and enjoyable time. Making a few new friends, and seeing some I'd not seen in a while.
I met... Joe Flanigan, Rachel Luttrell, Simone Bailly, Patrick Currie, Robert Duncan, Sharon Taylor and Alex Zahara.

Having guest encounters with Rachel, Simone and Sharon. And they all gave me advice on writing.

In relation to what follows on other Forums I am known as 'Wizzy'.

But the fun thing was... I took part in a quiz on the Sunday with Simone and Sharon as my team members. Facing Patrick and Alex and a young lady who asked me to 'go easy' on her.
My team won. There was a half point in it.
As part of the 'quiz' we had to act out some scenes and the audience on our side of the room had to guess from which episode we where doing the scene from.
One was a scene from 1969. I played the part of Michael and Simone played the part of Te'alc. The other was from Quarantine. Where I played Telya and Sharon played Shepard.
It was after this that from the back of the room Rachel appeared and said 'That was the worst impression of Teyla she had seen... I went very red...!

I also won a spot prize in the 'Pub Quiz' on the Sunday Evening. And the team I was on also won the quiz.

I haven't been to a Chevron since 7.6 (I think? With RDA??) and I really miss it. I'm very tempted to go to the next one. I love the notion of the quizes though! Don't think I'd dare act out a scene though.

I admit I was a bit uncertain about attending Chevron 8.1.
I had heard rumours, some good and some bad. But I am glad I went. It was fun. I did some things that I didn't get a chance to do at other conventions.

And best of all. I saw a lot of old friends and made a few new friends.
