I love Enterprise. Does it look more futuristic than the other shows? Sure. But this show was out in the early to mid 2000s...not the 60s...not the 80s or 90s. So naturally that means better effects, big flat screen monitors, better set design...yea.... I, for one, am glad they didn't make us stare at a bridge for 4 seasons that was made to look MORE primitive and silly than the one from TOS...
Canon issues? Can't say I noticed or cared...with perhaps the exception of the introduction of the borg. That was one well they visited to a bit too many times.
Another thing they could have held back on was the transporter....tho that was the biggest CHEAT in any of the star trek shows set in any time period imho. lol
Since I barely watched DS9 and none of Voyager, I didn't really notice stories being reused, tho I understand that they apparently were.
TNG is my favorite show of all time. I grew up with it and still watch it regularly....actually, I'm watching it now lol. But I find many shows in the early years, as well as the entire season 1, nearly unwatchable. (granted poorly made star trek is still better than a lot of tv out there, but i digress...)
A considerable amount of episodes in season 1 and 2 of Enterprise were also boring. It's just that TNG had 7 seasons in which to improve..whereas Enterprise had a mere 4. Shame, really.
Everyone is going to have their own opinion about it obviously, and each one is valid. But I can honestly say I enjoyed it for what it was: a show trying to set itself apart in an already well established franchise............by showing gratuitous shots of the half naked crew lotioning each other with sparkles in a blue room. Works for me. ;P
ENT was good. Trip's humor can make anyone laugh.

In TNG Worf says at some point 'There were no phasers in the 22nd Century. In Enterprise they have... phase pistols. Effectively the same thing. Oh well, It was a good series, I hate all the bad reviews.
Paying Homage to Star Trek... LIKE A BOSS!... Though right now I'd prefer a Night Fury to the Enterprise
I'm glad that was ignored. Phasers are a staple of Star Trek. There are some things that the show could have gone without such as the transporter pad, but I'm glad phasers... phase pitols... made it into the series. I love how they were treated as brand new weapons, unfamiliar to the crew.
I personally loved Enterprise...I felt that it was a good introduction to the franchise and I was saddened when it was cancelled
I ignored for the most part the 'problems' of the show when I first watched it. The whole Akiraprise didn't bother me, though I understood that it was direct ripoff of the Akira. If they altered it alittle for example, the square shaped projection in front could have been extended so it could encase the deflector dish or use it as a forward facing weapon plaform that had extra kick or something. Small things.
I always found that nitpicking stuff like that and say the show sucks because of that is stupid. Now don't get me wrong, there were many issues with the show, but so did the other shows.
I loved Enterprise(only series I have watched from beginning to end except TAS). Seriously, some people say the characters were cardboard. What?? The characters were great(Mayweather and Hoshi were soooo underused after Season 2), Tucker was my favorite and it even got a delicious mirror two-parter(where Archer stole the show utterly). And I don't even have to mention the golden episodes of Brent Spiner.

Actually Mayweather was really the only cardobard character. I can't tell if it was the character or the actor who made it that way. Maybe a combination of both. I always felt he was too wooden. Yes he was underused. They should have done more with the Boomer thing.
