    Default Favourite Audio Commentators?

Who are your favourite Audio Commentators on the SG Box Sets special features?

I personally have taken a liking to James Tishner and Peter DeLuise. Theyre funny and still get interesting info and facts across.

I think that just about everyone will say that they like the commentary by Peter DeLuise the most. He is so funny to listen to.

It depends on my mood. If I'm looking for something funny, Peter Deluise and Gary Jones. If I'm looking for something more informative, Martin Wood and Robert "Cookie" Cooper. Overall, I think Martin Wood does the best commentary, just from a balance standpoint. You learn alot about his episodes listening to his commentaries. I was very happy to see that he directed the 2 part finale of Atlantis "The Siege". I think that will be one of the first commentaries I listen to once I get the Atlantis DVD set.

I have listen to the different one and I have to agree with rmbeast. Peter is my favorite, even when he has others with him on the commentary.

I like the ones with the actors best. Martin Wood is good. And Peter DeLuise with Amanda Tapping is great.

PDL is a kinda random in his humour, but it still cracks me up. As for the best commentry, the episode Prodigy is absolutely hilarious (they sing the Stargate Lyrics ).

I love commentaries by DeLuise! He's a freakin' riot! Always talking about farting and someone's loin cloth or codpiece!

I kinda dislike commentaries by Bill Gherity. He just seems old and tired to me. Too quiet, not much to say. Nothing bugs me more than having to listen to some monotone director drone on about this or that, stuff that's not even relevant to the show and if it is relevant you can't tell because your eyes are half closed from wanting to fall asleep.

Without a doubt, Peter DeLuise and Gary Jones in combination. They've had me laughing out loud till my ribs ache while listening to commentaries. [Gary describing his audition where he did the chevron thing in the manner of Jerry Lewis had me crying with laughter]

Generally speaking, I prefer the actors/directors commentaries to those of the technical crew. More chance with the former of hearing some on set anacdote or something that interests me more than how many lights were used in a particular scene (the commentary for Small Victories is one of the most technically boring for me) or how exactly that SFX was done. I'm not really that interested in the tech stuff. But for those who are, I'm sure James Tichenor and the others do a great job. It's just not in my interests.

Really can't wait to get my S7 boxed set at the end of this month and listen to the commentaries on those. Just nicely in time to offset the SGWS when S8 finishes.
Listen, we had General Ryan come on and do a little cameo for us, and he's a real live four star, one of the big guys. And I had to ask him point blank, because there's a certain irreverence that I bring to the character, and denseness, but while we were doing this scene, I just looked at him and said, "Do you have guys like me in...?" and he stopped me and said, "Yes, and worse, and you're doing a fine job, son."

actually putting james tichenor with EITHER peter deluise or martin wood is often quite a funny combination...

but i must TOTALLY agree... gary jones talking about his audition, as well as the "reaching" were prob'ly two of the FUNNIEST MOMENTS of all audio-commentary-dom

Peter Deluise and Gary Jones without a doubt. They are all about toilet humour and they make the commentary just so darn funny to actually listen to.

Agreed. Peter DeLuise and Gary Jones are like a pair of naughty schoolboys when they get together. All fart jokes and toilet humour.

Can you imagine the havoc they'd cause at a convention together?

I like alot of the technical info actually. (Props, Sets, CGI, and so on)
I find it interesting, for example when Chaka(?) ate the goauld symbiote in the First Ones it was a burrito filled with stuff... stuff like that i find interesting.

    Prodigy, hands down.

Only PdL could talk about Poo-cramps and get the Pallozi to sing their stargate lyrics.. I laughed so hard I fell off the couch listening to that one..
