Net outages?

Okay, so I'm in the US, and noticing suddenly (as in just within the past 15 minutes) that I cannot access sites that are hosted by Lycos and Angelfire, can't get on Twitter (though I suspect that's because it's overloaded with people asking this same question, since it tried to load once and only came up partway and slowly)... I can't even access www.downforeveryoneorjustme.com!

Who else here is noticing a partial outage of the Web?

I haven't experienced any twitter outages, and I rarely close the tab.

I didn't even know Lycos or Angelfire still existed.

I didn't know either...thought those two sites had been absorbed into the netherworlds wherever old site hosts go....

Lycos and Angelfire are hosting companies these days. My website is hosted there, for example. Lots of sites are hosted by them, and you'd never know it because the sites have their own domain names, just like mine does. I'm only renting server space from them.
