... and it was a mistake... They brouhgt dr. Becket back, and later, Elizabeth's mind, which they put into another body. They realized their mistakes thanks to the SGA fans (myself included).

They pitched multiple movies. The 3rd SG1 movie, the SGA movie, and they were in talks about others, although we don't know if they actually pitched them (they probably did, otherwise what's the point in telling fans), like with an SGU movie, and a hybrid movie. At one point, Wright was convinced that some kind of movie would be produced based off of SG1 continuity (that is, SG1, SGA, SGU use what I call SG1 continuity). Of course, none of that ever panned out. And, now, it's all in the past. MGM is moving on.

Yes, that's it. SGU signaled the end of the franchise.
Time is what keeps everything from happening all at once.
For now.. there is not a chance in hell Stargate wont be back.. Just too big a franchise.

That's right. Plus there were 3 more seasons of SGU planned, along with one or two SGA films, another SG-1 movie and they planned to produce 2 SGU movies instead of the remaining planned SGU seasons once they knew that the series was cancelled. Plus I've read somewhere that Brad Wright and Joe Malozzi might have pitched ideas for more movies to MGM, but sadly, they're not happening, unless a mirracle occurs and the new leadership of MGM changes their minds and allows the series and/or the reramining movies to be produced.
MGM just came out of bankruptcy, they are focusing on the more guaranteed major revenue titles first (Hobbit, 007).. there is absolutely nothing saying that Stargate wont come back in the future.. I am sad to see so much lost hope about Stargate in general..

For those of you who have read my post before, you know I love Stargate! I've watched every single episode 7 times and now I'm on my 8th. I want some more Stargate! Has anyone heard anything about any possibilities with SGU or just in general?![]()

They could still do it with the same characters, they could just use different cast and just provide an explanation in a narration that they couldn't get the original cast members back for some unresolvable reason.
Unless you don't have money, re-building costumes, propes and sets is not a problem and if MGM doesn't have anything against it. Getting Joe, Brad and Robert back as writers won't be a problem, since (most of) the 3 series are their products.
Even if none of the three comes back ever again, I will be happy to see anything Stargate on TV, anywhere and whenever.
I would definitely need a show to finish off Stargate. I don't think books can really capture the "feel" of Stargate...
A show would definitely be the best choice to finish off the three series. But let's see what happens... or not. ;(
