Here is the thing, until the Asgard gave the Tauri (them not us, we are reality, they are not just a pet peeve) the 303 and 304s were at a disadvantage when it came to weapons. Sure the Asgard shields allowed them to withstand a incredibly amount of firepower, but doesn't do anyone any good if you can't damage them. Those railguns are useless against shields and those missiles can be shot down or intercepted.Hi There!

indeed - and yes, the SGC did a lot of good (killed a lot of systemlords, helped the free jaffa with supplies (from food and medicine and even arms) and a place to stay (alpha site!) when they needed it and we did the same for the tok'ra, too and let's face it, they more then earned their share twice over after defeating the ori!)
so yeah, earth should have gotten its share of the spoils (IMHO the jaffa are out of character not offering at least some of it to us as their honor would IMHO demand it!)
greetings LAX
ps: the prometheus was not that good a ship. it was cobbled together from several different technologies (asgard and goa'uld among them) and without asgard shields even an un-upgraded ha'tak would have blown it to bits without it even scratching the other ship's paint!)
pps: even the successor ships (304) have their issues (they lack in power generation for example, as their systems run better with a ZPM for example...IMHO this shows that their systems were never designed for ships this small (at least compared to a ha'tak or an asgard ship!)) so ha'taks would give us some much needed ships, which have also been in use for some time (so there are less issues to work out then with a new breed of ships) and they show that they can easily be upgraded to asgard standards so only fools would not want them! (same for cargo-ships and alkesh...hell we see the jaffa do covert missions on earth, right under the SGC's noses with those ships!)Last edited by Laxian of Earth; 19 May 2012, 06:06 AM.

It is interesting that the ZPM provides a boost for all systems on a 304 without burning them out. So you do have to wonder if there is an upper limit to those installed systems on a 304. As far as we know, the ZPM is the ultimate power source, but it is reasonable to assume that the Asgard may have something comparable or more powerful as it doesn't have to be that small and compact.Hi There!
