Actually, I can understand your point of view now.
I think what made Stargate great is exemplified in this fan-made movie:

MGM and Brad Wright better be watching these forums!

Look, what made Stargate great was simply Jack O'Neill.
As for Spader, there's a 0.001% chance that he has seen the TV series and wants to return.
But Devlin might do the old SG movies. And I will watch.
As for SG-1, Atlantis or Universe... they're over.
If nothing comes out in the next year, I'm gonna watch Infinity.

That tends to be a common fallacy. Correlating what fans like with what the viewers like. Its the viewers who number in the millions not the fans. Never mind that fans are often disagreeing with what they like
In Young We Trust
I don't want "closure", I don't want the best Sci-Fi show around to be finished up with a couple of movies (Don't get me wrong, i would still love movies if that's all we could get). I want to see the show/s continue, I want to not only see how Eli makes it with the pod problem, but i also want to see how the crew makes it though other challengers down the line.
SG-1 was the best![]()

I agree with this. I think we are underestimating how important Brad Wright is to the Stargate franchise.
If it wasn't for Brad's imagination and execution of his ideas, Stargate could be far worse off.
If Brad can help produce more Stargate, with the support of MGM and Syfy, while taking into account what he thinks will draw in more viewers, and please most of the fans - then I believe Stargate can still succeed as a franchise.
Look, why all the talk, it's obvious. MORE STARGATE!!!

Yeah more Stargate is what we all want . If its a continuation with a SG-1,SGA,SGU so be it. Entire new cast and writers w/e. I Just want to travel through the Gate again.
Favorite quote:
McKay: You shot me!
Sheppard: Yes, Rodney, I shot you, and I said I was sorry.
Ronon: You shot me, too.
Sheppard: I’m sorry for shooting everyone!
And if they do make another series, they better not keep the Stargate out of it(big SGU fail, they almost never showed the gate, they almost never showed the wormhole)

Yeah, that's always the problem: There are never enough fans to keep any SF show on the air WITHOUT the support of casual viewers. Casual viewers are all that keeps genre programming alive. If the show doesn't appeal to Joe Cheapbeer, it doesn't survive. This is why Stargate's ratings generally dropped as subsequent series had less and less to do with earth.
So how would you do it? What cast? Jack's pretty old and fat, but you need him around. Absolutely gotta' have Carter and Daniel and Teal'c, but I really liked the Fargate characters as well. So do you just reunite everyone ("Oh, hey, Jonas is sleeping on Vala's couch!") or do you add some new characters, or what? ("Well, Sam's on the Hammond in the Ori Galaxy doing doubletalky things, so here's our new science chick"), or throw in people from other shows ("Well, Sam's on the Hammond in the Ori Galaxy doing doubletalky things, so here's Rodney McKay") or what?
My ideal third SG-1 movie cast line up would be...
SGC Commander: General Hank Landry
SG-1 Team Leader: Cameron Mitchell
SG-1 Team Members: Dave Dixon (from "Heroes"), Bill Lee, & Vala Mal Doran
The crisis brings back: General O'Neill from Washington, Daniel Jackson from researching ancients on Atlantis, Colonel Carter from the George Hammond, and Teal'c: leader of the Free Jaffa Nation.
For a little crossover fun, bring in McKay and Sheppard. Small roles, something akin to Landry's role in Continuum which was all of two or three scenes.
Now, the questions would be... what's the crisis? Is Atlantis still on Earth? If so, is it the new SGC? Will the SGC go public? How will the world react? I think it'd be interesting if the SGC went public only to find out most everyone already knew about it. The world simply says, "Ah ha, you finally admit it!"
Lee would never get a job as a member of an SG-team, at least not SG-1.
Jack is old, but he never gets old.
