Correction, TV networks care about live broadcasts and possibly syndication, even though that's doubtful. If more TV shows were financed with a more long-term view, e.g. an eye on international sales, live or delayed streaming and future DVD sales, I suspect lots of shows would have a better chance of continuing. But the stupid networks try to cling to the outdated business model of live TV watching and its enforced viewing of commercials, which many tech savvy sci-fi fans avoid.

    Sigh
    Same old story
A broadcaster *if it is being asked to pony up half the cost* cannot look at that maneth, because they simply don't get that "follow on revenue" IF they did, then sure, your suggestion is sound.

    As to Farscape....
I think it is one of those shows that all Sci-fi fans *should* watch. Me personally, I think it is fantasticaly good, yet even if I were to be a critic of the series, you should watch season 1 if nothing more than to have a better understanding of *what* you are being critical of.

same here, though it took me like 3 tries to get past the second episode (mainly because i was trying pre-netflix so i couldn't find the next one). but once i finally did i was hooked! and watched the whole show in less than 2 months. while it is by far the weirdest show i've watched (mainly because of the puppets) but you get used to it and they grow on you (even rigel did lol). in my opinion the show keeps getting better as it goes on.

I just got through watching the entire series. I'm not usually a lover of Australia TV but I must admit this one exceeded my expectations. For me the first few episodes were quite slow but once I got past those I really thought it was great viewing.

I also am not fond of puppet characters but Rygel was brillant. I think he got some of the best lines in the series. I also thought Gigi Edgley's acting was fantastic, she really took the character Chiana to a different level. I loved the Mercurial nature of her character and she was one of my favorites. Scorpius was one of those characters you just loved to hate and of course Ben and Claudia did a great job and really brought the series together.

I must say I was confused with the story telling at one point and didn't realise they had changed the order of some episodes which might account for that. I thought it was quite unique for a sci-fi show, John Crichton was plain wacky at times but it did fit with his character trying to adjust to the changes in his life and Harvey I thought was very well written into the storyline. I definitely recommend watching the show and was glad that I gave it a chance myself.

Farscape fans may not be large in number but they are extremely loyal and passionate. I would even go to say even more passionate than a lot of other shows fan's are. There are still some good farscape forums/podcasts out there and the show has been off the air for almost ten years now which is a credit to fans for keeping it alive for others to find. Farscape == underrated.

Just started watching Farscape, found the dvds in JB HIFI. Have the first two seasons at the moment though, and I remember watching one episode on tv, and then it must have gotten shafted to a late night slot (thanks channel 9!, this was years ago!)

I have to say I was a little confused to in the beginning, but as I watched all the episodes in one hit on the weekend (multiple marathons!) I'm up to disc 5 it just drew me in!

The only thing I don't get is how Moira (a ship!) is pregnant! Am I missing something? Do I need to re-watch an episode? I certainly don't get how she got pregnant unless she's an actual being in a form of a ship.

I can see I will be enjoying asking many questions as I journey on watching other episodes.

Moya is a living biological entity capable of all the characteristics that is used to describe life. How Moya became pregnant will be described later on

Ahh that explains it! I just finished season one tonight, will have a massive break before i start watching season two, but I have a bunch of episodes that have been highlights. Including the finale, which was brilliant! I began thinking that this could have possibly been a two hour series finale if there were no other seasons. It basically had everything in that one

    Looking forward to Season Two.

Lots of marathons over the past 6 days. haha

What annoys me about teh Australian release of Farscape season 1 is that there is only 8 audio commenataries instead of the 16 or so that is on the US edition. Have to save up my penny for season 1 US.

Wow, you must watch one after another after another. I did that for Season 1 of 24. The wife and I watched all 24 episodes in about 8 days. I've never done that since. We usually rotate about 6 shows, watching 2 per night, or 3 on a weekend night. We like for them to last longer. ha
