Deeds xx
I know I'm DEFO going (other wise weekend off work will be pointless)
Still need to book transport, hotel and my gold ticket, gah! Who are you all aiming to see/glomp? xx
Since I'm going for the full weekend does anyone want to meet up? I'm meeting makowiec on the Sunday, but others company would be nicexx
I've a question. On the website it says that you have to pay for a photo shoot with the celebrity but if you take your own picture with your own camera, is that allowed? Thanks!
It depends on the actor and/or their agent's contract with Showmasters/Massive Events...some actors will allow snaps taken at the autograph signing tables and will also stand up and "pose" with you over the table...some will allow snaps while they are signing but NO posed photographs...some won't allow any snaps at all....and all afaik NO videotaping at ALL times...
Paid photoshoots take place behind screens at designated times over the course of the 2 days...and will be listed somewhere close by with a schedule of timings...
At LFCC it's very very crowded and very very busy and it will depend on times, queue length and the actor and/or "minder" at the time....sometimes it's possible to get a "long shot" if you're standing out of the way of the queue....but DO respect the crowds....I personally don't like "gawkers" who stand around and generally get in the way of people who are trying to get from A to B and hold up progress ....
Deeds xx
I love the little impromptu photo ops, I think they come out a lot less forced than some photo shoots.
If there isn't a sign and your feel confident, ask. If there IS a sign don't ask, cuz that would be embarrassing for you and others. If you have your camera around your neck and are shy, a quick point to it and a smile might helpI know at these comic cons I'm a gawker, but I'm paying the money so as I'm. It completely in the way, I'll spend time peeping myself up for meeting the actors (with Colin Ferguson in Toronto is took me almost an hour to gather the courage to talk to him/join his que-which after 20 minutes he started waving me over lol).
But yeah, just askno one will shout/kill you xx

May the odds.... Be ever in your favour..!
Now that Norman Reedus has sadly had to cancel due to work commitments there is an empty slot as he was due to give a talk on both days. Here's hoping they will add in a Ben & Chris talk to replace it!
So did everyone had a good time?
I was only able to attend on the Friday & Saturday so sadly missed Bens talk on the Sunday
The guests were fab but the organisation behind the event this year was a bit hectic this year. The queuing outside on the Saturday was chaos, talks cut short due to delayed starts, not being able to hear guests speak during talks and a few guests were over worked etc. I know that Hayden Panettiere had to pose with like 600+ people in one go for her photo shoot, had to sign 700+ autographs and she practically had to organise her own talk with how questions were asked.
But other than the organisation behind certain aspects the event were great. Loved all the guests from Games of Thrones.

It was a long day on my feet most of the time.....
Bad points: Queueing for entry, buying last minute photo ops etc., waiting an interminable time for photo op collection - waaaaaaaaaaaaay too many photo ops for the system in place for printing, collection & distribution...not enough space to lay out so many photos &/or staff to deal with them...
Talks - apparently the sound quality and organisation was awful from what I read..I gave up talks in those large arenas 2 yrs ago and when the "paid talk" came more into prominence....I only go to free ones then I can't complain about the sound quality..
Nowhere decent to sit, although the cool high balcony area all around the large Olympia Hall did at least offer some peaceful respite and a reasonably clean, if hard, floor to sit on and eat my sandwich...
The smell...come on people!!!....Bodies and more importantly clothes (especially costumes) NEED to be washed and perfumed regularly....some of those pongs were not just because it was a tad hot in the queues!..bleughhhhhhhhh!...
Good points...
Lovely LARGE aisles to walk through the Merch Area...soooo much room it was wonderful...
GREAT dedicated area at the back for auto signing....far less cramped for queuing....
The Guests - all those I met were wonderful...friendly, helpful and I got great photo ops with Jewel Staite, Ben Browder and I hope, Charles Dance who exuded sex appeal, was charming, gave me a kiss on the head and wished me a wonderful birthday whilst flattering an old lady silly....I am totally and utterly his biggest fangirl(woman) now!!...will have to wait for the photo op as I left before it was delivered back..
The Costumers....some awesome ones and all really lovely guys and girls, willing to stop and pose at every corner...
So yeah, nice venue, but needs a LOT more staff/volunteers to cope with the increased demand, increase in guests, fans and facilities alike.......you can't run it with the same number of peeps you were doing 2/3 years ago imho.....not now...
Deeds xx
