I'm not here to promote alcohol at all but I have to say that for me it works to have a couple of drinks to help me relax and loosen up It sort of makes me more open and stay true to my opinion. It seems to be a lot easier to say what I'm really thinking without holding too much back. If that makes any sense...

Things have been really really busy for us this year in that evil realm known as "the real world", and so your GateFic team hasn't been able to promote this year's awards as we should. So... we have options. We can either push this year's awards back to later in the year--around November, maybe--or change the format entirely. Thoughts?

I'm not sure what they're gonna do, hopefully they'll just postpone and it will still happen this year but thought I should share as I'm sure many people won't read this. I didn't know much about them until last year's voting rounds but I think it's a great way to show how much you enjoy your favorite fanfics, -art and -vids.

I'd want her to be the "lead of SG-1" - not overall lead of the base (like Atlantis) where she really didn't have much to do. However, if she was lead of SG-1, make sure there's no Cameron Mitchell-like person on the team (e.g. a person who doesn't respect her authority or decisions.) I could even go for a Sam, Teal'C, Daniel, Vala team.

Due to the ending of Sanctuary, I'm in serious Amanda withdrawl. I think I need to have a SG-1 marathon in the next couple weeks.

Random question - is your "Top 10 SG-1 episodes" list different than your "Top 10 Carter episodes" list?

I find that mine are actually somewhat different, because I do enjoy many of the episodes that are more 'team' oriented, like "Fail safe", "descent", "the fifth man" etc.

I have a little mission for Sam fans….As some have mentioned, Amanda's birthday is at the end of August. And it is traditional to collect and send birthday greetings to her. However, since Amanda's site is less a fan site now and more an official and professional one, there's a decision not to collect wishes via that site.

So Julia has asked me to help spread the word for her. So….birthday wishes for Amanda.

Starting July 25 through August 15 (and ONLY these dates please) you can send BRIEF birthday wishes – no attachment, just words please – to Julia@youisforunique.com . Please put 'Amanda Wishes' in the subject line so they don't get lost.

She will then collect them and put them together and get them to Amanda for her birthday.

so....advanced heads up. Please do not send anything until the 25th (those that know Julia know that shes in the middle of her torch run at the moment.)

I can't really say I miss Sam as I'm currently still on my first watch of SG-1, im up to season 8 and i love Sam, she is an amazing character played by an amazing actor. I'm just really gald that I get to keep Sam throught watching the whole stargate franchise more or less.
