Earth Symbol Stargate References in Other Media (Intentional, Inferred or Unintentional)

I don't know if this type of thread has been started or not but as I was playing World of Warcraft (WoW) earlier I noticed a couple of things and I wondered if they were intentional references to Stargate or not. The first one is that in several spots in World of Warcraft, there are portals (like in Desolace and there is one in Stormwind. Anyone who plays will know what I'm talking about) that look similar to Stargates.

Also, in the recent expansion, Cataclysm, there is a new area called Uldum which is basically Wow's version of Egypt (they even use some of the real names of Godds/Goddesses as some of the enemies in the dungeons). There is a river or lake in Uldum full of snakes that you have to kill for a quest. While they don't exactly look like Ga'ould they look enough like them to me. I just thought it was an odd coincidence that so far Uldum is the only place where these Ga'ould looking serpents exist in the game. I was wondering if anyone else came across any Stargate references in any other games, TV shows, books, or anything. It can also be something that you think is a possible reference to the series (I'm 90% sure that WoW is referencing SG-1, as they throw in easter eggs to a lot of other things in the game).

Apparently, there is a system of Stargates in Second Life.

Hmmm the portals may date from earlier warcraft titles and lore. However their visual representation in World of Warcraft, do evoke the images of the show. On a stone dais with steps and all.

The re-origination device in Uldum is an obvious homage to the Dakara weapon. Both have the same purpose.

The Uldum natives horus headgear and banded collars evoke the image of Jaffa.

The insides of the Titan artifacts with the gold metallic walls lined with glyphs make me thinks of Goa'ould interior design.

In other media; there is an older Aqua Teen Hunger Force episode featuring a "Fargate". ;-)

There's this thread from 2007 referencing some more obscure (to me) ones:

I never caught that one and I just remembered about the natives' headgear It adds to my credence at least about the things that I mentioned being in Uldum being a reference. I do agree with what you said about the portals, and I loved it when Richard Dean Anderson guest starred on the Simpsons and the scene where Patty and Selma kidnapped him from the Stargate convention. I do remember my brother telling me about when they did Stargate on Aqua Teen Hunger force. I'm going to check the other thread as well to see if there are any there that I missed at the time but remember now.

There is the band Pagan's Mind album cover for 'God's Equation' that has the stargate itself on it!

Stargate on OS Map.JPG Found in a humourous book from the UK called "The Myway Code' a light hearted look at the rules of the road in Britain. This is a parody of an Ordinance Survey map that marks various landmarks in Britain. Using that London Underground station will certainly take you somewhere you didn't expect!

sheldon mentions sg-1 on the big bang theory once which is kind of fun.

also, while not reference by any means... amc's new show hell on wheels stars both todd the wraith and the original leader of the genii as bad guys

Well, the girlfriend said something like 'you were hiding in the house' and he said 'yeah with my Star Wars boxset, well it could be worse, it could've been Stargate' then they laugh!
I was like, Oh no you didn't!
