Default Where did "Stargate" end for you?

Did you loose interest before SGU's cancellation? For me, the Atlantis series finale ("Enemy at the Gate") was the last great Stargate adventure. Sure, we got 40 episodes of SGU before it all came to an end, but it just wasn't the same. I tried to watch SGU, but I lost interest after "Air, Part 3." Atlantis flying back to Earth to fight off a Wraith hive and save the Earth for once instead of SG-1 was a nice adventure to end Stargate on.

Stargate ended after SGU for me (been a fan since the original movie). SGU was different, I personally liked the different feel but can see why some didn't and it did have the potential to be better than it was imo.

But even though there were still many lingering questions, "Gauntlet" was quite a good ending in my opinion, to me it felt like the series had came full circle and that the dinner the crew had before going into stasis was like a final goodbye.

Also Wray's speech at the end of "Epilogue" could be seen as a fitting ending as well.

When SGU ended, assuming there won't be any more Stargate. I might have given up sooner though had SG-1 not been still on during Atlantis' second and third seasons.

    Oh, and lose*

SG-1. 'Reckoning P2'. While Threads and Moebius weren't horrible, as far as I'm concerned that was the last of 'my' Stargate. I watched SGA (and even most of S9/S10) but...

I can understand loosing interest after the eighth season, but why not finish off with "Threads" and "Moebius?" Did you finish out the series and see the two follow-up movies? How much of Atlantis did you see?

It's not over! They're all still having adventures in my head!

    But seriously:

I second that. I think the speech was really nice. Throughout the whole franchise there were some seasons and eps I liked better or worse than others, but SGU was still 'stargate', however different from previous incarnations, so now that that's over, I guess it has 'ended'. I still hope for a reboot sometime in the future, in some way shape or form.

I stopped watching at the beginning of season 2 of SGU, partially due to schoolwork, but I'm trying to find time to catch up, as I've heard the later episodes were amazing.

I don't think it will ever end for me, so long as the fanbase is still active and there's still fanfictions for me to read. Plus, I write fanfic, so in my head they're still having adventures.

When Elizabeth was kicked out of Atlantis. I've seen the final 2 seasons, but my heart was no longer in it. I wasn't going to watch any other shows from these same people who would do that.

Well I still haven't seen all of the animated show that should never be named. So I guess it still technically hasn't ended for me even though I've seen all the live action stuff starting with the original movie.

LOL. Good point. I guess it's the same for me too.

As for 3 'live' Stargate series, there were 2 such points. For the first time, Stargate ended for me with Moebius. The last 2 seasons of SG-1 & SGA caused me to feel nothing but embarrasment and slowly killed my interest in Stargate. Then SGU came along, just when I was ready to leave, and as PA said, all was forgiven. SGU made me love Stargate once more and with its cancelation Stargate ended for me for the second, and I think final, time.

I believe my interest in Stargate fell off a tower in season 4 of Atlantis... after that, I just watched cause I was still counting screentime and words.

The actual end of watching anything Stargate (while in broadcast) was after the first season of SGU. It just didn't do it for me, and I only began watching it because of LDP. But each of the individual series had a point in them where I either stopped - then returned afte a while- watching. For SG1, it was after Daniel left. That was about the time they made the move from Showtime to SciFi, which I didn't like to begin with. I returned to SG1 when Daniel returned, and watched through to the end. I got into SGA immediately, and was a loyal watcher until S5, where they began splitting episodes up and using only one or two characters in them. I loathed the character changes, after Beckett 'died,' so was losing faith anyway. Why I started watching SGU was more out of curiosity than anything else. But it was a ghost of the original two series. I did watch the SG1 movies, and hoped for an SGA movie. Sadly, they could have done so much more, but everyone has to move on, I guess.
